My room at the hotel had a lot of cobwebs and the pillows were smelly. The door to exit the room was broken and would not open. I had to call out to the housekeeper from the window to come and let me out!

Helpful, competent and accommodating staff. That was really great. Shower was fantastic! Lots of high-pressure and hot water. Was nice to have a toaster in the room. Don't know if that's common in Australia (isn't in Canada). The lighting was poor (most lights didn't work - and they wouldn't have been enough anyway) and the room was pretty run down. The main issue, however, was the smell. It was awfully musty.

The room was mostly very tidy and presented well. The motel is in a great spot in town. We can easily walk to most things. Didn’t really appreciate being asked where I had booked my room then being told rates had not been that low for many years, and it was difficult enough for the owner to make a living without those sort of rates. The guilt trip wasn’t the best start to the night away.

I advise anyone booking to phone first to check if the wifi - advertised as free - is working. There didn't seem to be a problem with the office computer, but the wifi in the unit which the nice receptionist described as 'dropping out a lot', didn't seem to exist at all.
Apart from that, the motel was good value for the price, clean, quiet, and well located.
