This is a homestay without a front desk. Normally, there will be an email to inform me of the room number and check-in password before check-in, but Ctrip did not notify me of these, and did not receive an email. After the check-in time, I had to go directly to the homestay. Fortunately, I met someone else who was staying and told me the landlord’s contact information, and also contacted the landlord and successfully checked in. The location of the homestay is very good, it is convenient to go anywhere, it is easy to find, clean, we booked a quadruple room with four single beds, the comparison is also very high, and you can cook in the homestay, we bought the local famous moth cow to eat satisfied, it is worth staying again!

LLay ChianUsually i rarely comment on hotel. I must said this time, this hotel is super amazing:) The location is near to JR station, came out from the station walk across the street u will see a 7-11 convenient store and turn right u will see the hotel. The hotel room is damn big, the room can watch netflix and youtube somemore! The hotel breakfast also must try i never regret booked a room with breakfast, plus plus the hotel staff is nice and friendly as they help me check in very fast and there is a public onsen on 9th floor. This hotel makes my trip in Takayama feel amaze! I definitely will come back again, one of the hidden gem i found in Takayama! I also catch a snow fall on that day such a great experience really appreciate 🥰 Happy new year

GGuest UserSituated just beside the Takayama Station, the location is very convenient. The room itself is equipped with a washer and dryer. We could do laundry daily during our 4 night stay. It’s a pity there is no onsen at this hotel, also there is a limit to the amount of hot water supplied so this is something to be aware of in the event that you run out of hot water for shower.

SSetoucVery nice hotel and great location. I was lucky to have the last parking lot that is not yet reserved. I wasn’t able to try the private onsen because I didn’t book in advance. I’ll definitely book this hotel again if I go Takayama in the future.

JJ.LoThe location is convenient, just near the train station. You can feel the strong Japanese flavor when you step into the hotel. You can borrow kimonos for free during your stay. You can also wear them out and stroll around the ancient streets to take photos. It is a good experience. The hotel also has private baths, but reservations need to be made in advance. There are many restaurants and shops nearby, and it takes about 5 minutes to walk to Miyagawa Morning Market and ancient streets. You can choose Japanese or Western breakfast. The Japanese style is very exquisite, rich and delicious. The staff here are attentive and have high English proficiency.

BBe My GuestMy recent stay at the Wat Hotel & Spa Hida Takayama was a delightful experience. From the moment I arrived, I was impressed by the hotel's thoughtful amenities and welcoming atmosphere. Ample parking is available (a reasonable ¥800 overnight fee applies), making it a convenient choice for those traveling by car. I also opted for the breakfast buffet (¥1000 per person), which offered a delicious start to each day. The friendly front desk staff spoke excellent English, making check-in a breeze. A particularly nice touch was the welcome drink coupon, redeemable for a refreshing beer or soft drink at the self-service bar – a perfect way to unwind after a journey. The rooms at Wat Hotel & Spa are spacious and comfortable, featuring well-appointed bathrooms with excellent shower facilities. The hotel's onsen, located on the top floor, is a true highlight. The private onsen is available on a first-come, first-served basis, offering a relaxing and intimate experience. Simply lock the door, and the space is yours to enjoy. The hotel is also family-friendly, with a fun touch – guests can help themselves to a complimentary popsicle after their bath. All the essential amenities are provided, including combs, soap, shampoo, and comfortable bathrobes, readily available in the lobby. HHei LamThe hotel provided us with a welcome drink (5-7pm) and snacks(a small bowl of ramen or vanilla ice cream) from 8pm. A convinience store just opposite to the hotel so you can buy snacks and drinks. A nice onsen (one indoor and one outdoor). Everything was clean. You can get cold tea or hot water anytime in the lobby. Bed was comfortable. Breakfast was okay with some famous local food. Not many food choices.

AAnonymous UserThis hotel exceeded our expectation! It is very near the Nohi Bus station and the JR Takayama station (3-5 min walk). Although we just stayed overnight, we had a memorable experience in Takayama Ouan. The hotel has a lot of freebies for their guests. They have a booth in the lobby where guests can get free brewed coffee, hot tea, and green lemon iced tea. They also provide free socks since the hotel have tatami flooring. What we also loved about this hotel is the onsen (separate public onsen for male and female, and 3 private onsen). They also have a freezer where guests can get free iced cream after bathing. During past 9 pm, they also have free ramen for their guests. The room is spacious, and the view from our window is also nice (the roads and establishments covered with snow). Aside from the free stuff and great amenities, we also appreciate the kind and friendly staff members. We accidentally lost the luggage claim tag (and we are willing to pay for it) but they didn't charge us anything. When we go back to Takayama, we will definitely stay here again.

DDuboisTristanThis place was absolute amazing! By far our favorite place from our whole trip. The location was absolutely perfect for the Takyama festival. We were literally right there with shops and street vendors 50 yards away and the parades would have been right there as well if they weren't canceled due to rain. The rooms were humble and traditional and really added to the experience. The tea in the room was exceptionally good and the traditional Japanese breakfast they served was also delicious and fun to eat. We didn't even know they had a legitimate hot spring on site, but they did! They are Japanese style baths so be ready for that, but the water was therapeutic and so relaxing. I cant recommend this place enough and I would absolute make it a point to visit Takyama and stay here again for a few days on our next trip to Japan. They were such great kind hosts. And I cant believe the price, what an great value. Do yourself a favor and stay here. I'm not sure why the other bad reviews are here I read some of them and they sound like entitled stupid American tourists so ignore them and stay here.
