Very grateful for the comfortable room arranged, which made me feel as warm and cozy as at home. Especially the thoughtful anniversary snacks prepared by the hotel were truly a delightful surprise. Such a considerate arrangement made this stay exceptionally memorable. All the hotel staff members exhibited a high level of professionalism and friendly service attitude, from the front desk to room service, making me feel genuinely welcomed. I believe that the outstanding service quality and meticulous arrangements of your hotel will continue to attract more guests.

This was our second stay in Takayama Residence and we love its proximity to the train station and its central location to town. Rooms are equipped with cooking facilities(great for cooking your Hida beef) and washer/dryer combo which made it easy for laundry. Only drawback is the lift which is rather small and only 1 to service 8 floors. Be prepared to wait at least 10min if you are checking out or in during those busy hours. There is no onsen in Takayama Residence but they do have an arrangement in Wat Hotel which is a 15min walk away...a rather long trek imo. Overall, it is a good location to stay in Takayama.

The hotel room is clean and well-equipped with cooking utensils, cups, plates and tableware. The hotel is very new and clean and easy to access. There are many parking lots near the hotel and shopping places nearby. It is very suitable for family self-driving trips. I will consider it. A hotel to stay at again, highly recommended😊

An amazing ryokan experience with very attentive service by Lai, Teddy and the team. While we had an unfortunate issue with the bath tub in one of our rooms, the team was quick to attend to it. They even offered us an upgrade to a very beautiful room with an ensuite private onsen and covered our drinks for dinner. Very appreciative of the team for going out of the way in their service recovery and helped us to enjoy our ryokan experience with many wonderful memories. Looking forward to stay at the Honjin Hiranoya Bekkan during our next visit to Takayama :)

Take the Nohi bus to the terminal. Although the journey takes about an hour and a half, it is definitely worth it! The hotel is right next to the cable car, so we went to play the cable car the next day. The top of the mountain was not cold, but the snow was thick. Adults and children had a lot of fun. The hotel is retro, one night and two meals, stayed for three nights, breakfast and dinner are not repeated, and the various methods of Hida Wagyu are really delicious! The set meal is very delicate, one course at a time, and I feel full after eating the whole set. The hot spring is very good, natural, and there are open-air baths for men and women. It is an unforgettable experience to soak in the hot spring in the snow! Don't miss this hotel, you won't be disappointed!

Nice hotel, quiet and peaceful. You can really let go of the fast-paced life in Takayama and enjoy the inner peace. The hotel is not far from the station, about 10 minutes walk. It is convenient to go to Jinya and other attractions. Highly recommended

I stayed with my two-year-old daughter and stayed in different Japanese-style hotels many times. This time I booked two hotels in Shinhotaka/Hirayu Onsen. This is the first one. The location and view of the hotel are very good. The decoration is very good. Food is good. The front desk supervisor sister is also very good and hard-working. I would like to praise her. He also said that there are currently not enough staff to require tolerance. But some services are not in place. The hot spring pool and floors were not cleaned properly and there was a lot of moss. I almost slipped and fell several times! It was too dangerous and felt dirty. Perhaps to save money, the heating was not turned on in the passages and the entire public space was too cold. In addition, you can actually pull your luggage into the room from outside. . I was worried about the tatami mats in the passageway I came all the way to. . There are also concerns about overall hygiene. People have to take off their shoes when entering the hotel, but wheels are not required 😂 Two waiters in the restaurant. One can also make the other girl keep a straight face the whole time. When the small basin was dirty and I asked for it to be replaced, I was told ”No” - I don't know what kind of Japanese service this is. In addition, the hotel (the day I stayed) was mostly occupied by foreign guests. . The menu is also in English in Japanese format (haha!). It is estimated that this restaurant mainly caters to Western customers, but it is not a traditional Japanese service.

The most expensive but the worst hotel among the 8 hotels in this trip! The hotel is positioned as an Internet celebrity hotel in my heart! Very beautiful to take pictures! But the hotel has flaws: the public hot spring is too small and you can't take a bath, the room is too cold, and the air conditioner doesn't work! The shower area in the room is also very cold! The food was average, but the key was that the ventilation during the barbecue for dinner was not good and the smell of oily smoke was all over the place! The service is very good from check-in to other times. The key is that after check-out, no one cares about getting to the station. If the weather is good, it is not a big problem and the distance is not far. But on snowy days, it is too hard to push a big box with ice and snow on the road! It was really beautiful to take a lot of photos. If you don’t have high requirements for hot springs and like to take beautiful photos, it’s still great!

The room was spacious and spacious, making it very comfortable. The free-flowing hot springs in the observation bath in the room were very nice. The only amenities are the provided shampoo set, towel set, and toothbrush, so you need to bring your own, but Samue and tanzen are provided, and the room comes with a hot spring bath, so I think the price is very reasonable. Dinner will be prepared for you if you make a reservation in advance. There were quite a few people staying multiple nights, so I'd like to plan on staying multiple nights next time. Although there were no Japanese staff, I was able to spend a comfortable time without any problems with polite customer service.
