Hotel Hot Springs Takayama

Stay at Hanajoan Main Building, which is known as the No.1 hot spring in the mountains. (Opened in 1993) Free cars will pick you up from the bus station or high-speed rail station. A welcome drum will be played in the lobby upon check-in, and snow boots will be thoughtfully prepared for guests to wear when going out. The lobby is filled with dolls arranged like a mountain, with a strong Japanese style. The room has an open-air bath and a small study room (unfortunately, people who come to take a bath probably don't have time to use the study room. There is Ishibashi no Yu on the first floor of the main building, a viewing bath on the 7th floor of the annex, and a bath for women only. Dinner is Japanese and Western. Choose Japanese food, it's delicious and filling. The double room comes with 4 store exchange coupons, which can be exchanged for 2 cans of Alpine milk and 2 ice creams.

Very nice hotel and great location. I was lucky to have the last parking lot that is not yet reserved. I wasn’t able to try the private onsen because I didn’t book in advance. I’ll definitely book this hotel again if I go Takayama in the future.

The hot springs is nice and nearby to all the attraction places. There is a supermarket also nearby. The parking is cost JPY1500 for a day if you are the hotel guest. The hotel refund one day hotel fee to us due to last minutes road closure and we unable to check in.

The service was excellent. I especially want to praise the front desk lady that day, because we lost something at the previous hotel the night before, and the hotel's telephone customer service could only speak Japanese, so we couldn't communicate. The front desk lady of this hotel was very patient in helping us. It took up a lot of his time, but she was always very enthusiastic. The hotel also offers indoor and outdoor hot springs, and the restaurant in the hotel also serves good food. The breakfast in the morning was also delicious with a lot of variety. It was a very pleasant stay experience.

The room is cozy and have everything needed but small. They have limited parking lot next to the hotel. We have to park at second car park because next to hotel one is full and parking fee JPY500. All the guests except kids have to pay hot spring tax no matter whether use the hot spring facility.

The hotel is large and spacious, with three interconnected buildings featuring an onsen, or hot spring, on the sixth floor. The breakfast room's capacity is somewhat limited; we were seated on the third floor, a ballroom repurposed for breakfast, while the typical restaurant is on the second floor. Although the food is the same, the third-floor location lacks the ambiance and view of the second floor. While I understand that the hotel has many guests during peak hours, allowing guests to choose their seating would be preferable. We are not in a rush and are willing to wait; Japanese guests tend to eat quickly anyway. The room and hot spring were satisfactory, though unremarkable. The hotel's location is not convenient to the train station. If you are traveling by train, this should be considered, even though a shuttle bus runs hourly.

Usually i rarely comment on hotel. I must said this time, this hotel is super amazing:) The location is near to JR station, came out from the station walk across the street u will see a 7-11 convenient store and turn right u will see the hotel. The hotel room is damn big, the room can watch netflix and youtube somemore! The hotel breakfast also must try i never regret booked a room with breakfast, plus plus the hotel staff is nice and friendly as they help me check in very fast and there is a public onsen on 9th floor. This hotel makes my trip in Takayama feel amaze! I definitely will come back again, one of the hidden gem i found in Takayama! I also catch a snow fall on that day such a great experience really appreciate 🥰 Happy new year

Very grateful for the comfortable room arranged, which made me feel as warm and cozy as at home. Especially the thoughtful anniversary snacks prepared by the hotel were truly a delightful surprise. Such a considerate arrangement made this stay exceptionally memorable. All the hotel staff members exhibited a high level of professionalism and friendly service attitude, from the front desk to room service, making me feel genuinely welcomed. Good location-if you want to visit Kamikochi. The hotel is just about about 500 meters away from Hirayu bus station. The bus ride (from Hirayu to Kamikochi is about 20 minutes. Hotel staffs are professional, are good in problem solving and friendly. After a walk at Kamikochi, you can relaxed with onsen. The breakfast and dinner are Japanese food (set menu) with good quality and yummy. The hotel also provides lots of freebies e.g. refreshment, noodles at 10.00 pm.

The private onsen is available on a first-come, first-served basis, offering a relaxing and intimate experience. Simply lock the door, and the space is yours to enjoy. The hotel is also family-friendly, with a fun touch – guests can help themselves to a complimentary popsicle after their bath. All the essential amenities are provided, including combs, soap, shampoo, and comfortable bathrobes, readily available in the lobby. My stay at the Wat Hotel & Spa Hida Takayama was truly rejuvenating, and I highly recommend it for anyone visiting this charming town.
