After a wonderful morning at the beach on our first full day of our vacation, my husband, myself, and two children ages 4 and 6 ate lunch at the Sandpiper Tiki Bar on Sunday, June 16 (Father's Day). My husband ordered the Mahi Mahi sandwich and became ill 4 hours later. We were forced to cancel our dinner reservations that evening, and were very close to rescheduling our family photos the following day at 7 AM. It made for a stressful and unpleasant start to our vacation. My husband reported the incident to the Marriott in-person and received a verbal apology. Staff members assured him that it would be taken care of. After almost two months, several phone calls, and empty promises later, nothing has been done. He has been assured that the amount was credited back to his card many times. We are extremely disappointed with the back and forth and no longer trust this issue will be taken care of properly by Marriott staff. Bottom Line: Avoid. We come to Hutchinson Island regularly. We will never return to this eating establishment. As a Titanium Elite Marriott Bonvoy member, my husband wants a refund. However, it is almost two months later and he has yet to receive any compensation.
