Hotel Moderno

Stayed at the Morderno as part of Group Holiday.The Positives is the Hotel is situated in the heart of the Pedestrian Area with easy Access to all the bars and Restaurants. The Housekeeping Staff do a Great job of servicing the rooms daily with clean towels etc.Reception Staff and the Night porter extremely friendly and helpful.The negatives breakfast is the worst I've experienced at any Hotel in the World.The eggs u had to boil yourself might be idea to have some scrambled egg or few pancakes the fruit was left in.bowl would of been nice to have bowl of fresh fruit chopped and also.alot of tinned.We felt that to ask for bread etc to be replenished or crockery for juice etc always seemed to b met with attitude.The Hotel.is old but Bedrooms could do with freshing up the paint on.walls and new carpet on Hallways .While we loved Stressa and Lake Maggoire I wouldn't stay at this Hotel if we return in the Future

The Hotel Moderno is about 9 or 10 minutes walk from the railway station and not too difficult to find. The location is very good as it's in the heart of the small town amongst all the restaurants, bars, cafes etc. It's also just 2minutes walk to the main ferry pier as well as the main tourist boat operator. Check-in was quick and the receptionist was pleasant. The room was relatively large (double room), the bed was comfortable enough as were the pillows, the wifi worked most of the time and the air-conditioning was acceptable although it is not as cool as some might like. Plug points in the room are all of the three pin Italian variety rather than the two pin European type which are also quite common in Italy nowadays. Some really cheapish sachets of shampoo were in the bathroom. The shower is in a bath tub. There is small safe/safety deposit box in the room as well. The room was clean enough. No kettle/instant coffee/tea in the room. The room was very basic, but no complaints with that given the reasonable price for the accommodation. The corridors appear run down, an old heater with the top caved in, paint coming off walls, carpet in need of replacement etc. Breakfast was another matter. I don't think I have ever been in an Italian hotel anywhere (and I have been in many 3 and 4 star ones) which had such a small, abysmal selection of food for breakfast. And as for the coffee machine, I don't think I have ever tasted worse coffee in my life. Appalling. However ask the waiters for a proper cup of cappucino and not the horrible liquid that purports to be that from the machine; and the waiters will go and make you a proper one. There is also a sign on the display table informing guests that they should not take the food away with them. Maybe to enforce that.....who knows......there are also several waiters hanging around in the dining room which appeared to be overkill. I really don't like have a posse of waiters watching me eating or walking back and forward from the buffet table! It's quite off-putting. For a couple of nights, this hotel is OK given the price, but I wouldn't have wanted to stay any longer than that.

Slightly tired but in an excellent location. Lots of restaurant options. This was just an overnight stay on a longer trip and it worked well for its purpose.

Centrally located it’s easy to reach every sightseeing spot.

Très bien centré et à prix abordable. Le personnel est très sympathique et disponible. Le rapport prix-qualité est bon pour un lieu aussi prisé que Stresa.

Ci siamo trovati benissimo. Personale super cordiale e pulizia della struttura ottima. Unico imprevisto (multa presa a causa del Giro d'Italia) brillantemente risolto dal personale della struttura che ci ha assistito in maniera impeccabile. Cibo ottimo e posizione super! Famiglia Russo e Grondini

La posizione è perfetta, a pochi passi dall'imbarcadero. La stanza è molto pulita, sebbene datata, e comunque silenziosa anche si è in centro. Materasso rigido, per me va benissimo. Buona colazione, con bel tempo in cortile con pergola molto piacevole. Attenzione, l'hotel è collocato dietro una chiesa e sotto il campanile. Suonano spesso le campane di giorno. Unica pecca migliorabile in bagno, il neon da garage e il controsoffitto metallico a listarelle che vibrava e si smontava aprendo la porta.

Ho Soggiornato in quest hotel ad agosto e non ci ritornerei mai più. Posizione ottima, in centro, ma pessima struttura. Stanze sporche, il bagno veniva riordinato giornalmente ma non lavato, la stanza nn veniva né spolverata, né spazzata. Colazione molto scarsa, crostata confezionata del supermercato. Privi di latte e prodotti senza lattosio. Una sera a cena ci hanno servito il riso con gli scarafaggi (che produce lo stesso riso) lo abbiamo fatto presente al direttore che si è giustificato dicendo che erano le spezie del formaggio, a chi vuole prendere in giro. Il mio riso era senza formaggio perché intollerante ai latticini. Il direttore avrebbe fatto più bella figura scusandosi invece di prendere in giro i clienti. Così facendo ottiene solo pubblicità negativa. Gli scarafaggi vengono a galla quando metti il riso in acqua quindi palesemente visibile. Dovete solo vergognarvi. Noi clienti vi portiamo i soldi e voi ci trattate cosi. Dovreste chiudere.

gradevole soggiorno in questo tre stelle pulito ed ordinato situato immediatamente dietro la chiesa di Stresa . buona qualità sia del servizio in generale che della colazione. personale cortese e sorridente. da consigliare
