One adult and one 12 year old child paying 26 US dollars per night with breakfast and lunch is pretty good. I got the upgrade for free with balcony. The wifi was not strong. The tv has no hdmi connection. The bathroom is old and needs updating. The breakfast was good but I did not try the lunch or dinner.

The waiter was very welcoming, the environment was very good, and the room was very clean. Convenient transportation and convenient to go anywhere. There is a good sense of staying experience, and I will continue to stay next time.

A wonderful hotel, which is difficult to notice from the street and with an inconspicuous sign. As expected, it was found and booked by chance and, alas, only for one night. The rented tuk-tuk was driven to the back yard and before leaving, the staff themselves parked it next to the exit (considering the crazy traffic, a deep bow for this 😅). They guided us where to exchange dollars for rupees at a good rate. The room is gorgeous, two double beds for two were not that unusual, I'm just still wondering why they didn't limit themselves to one bed) The pool on the roof with a view of the city deserves special attention, unfortunately I can't rate the cuisine, we arrived late and had dinner in the city, and left early, limiting ourselves to coffee, but the overall impression is extremely positive

The Good The standout feature of The Coffee Bungalow is undoubtedly its staff, particularly Adrian, who went above and beyond to ensure our stay was enjoyable. Everyone we encountered was attentive and genuinely warm, making us feel well cared for. The food was another highlight—delicious and thoughtfully prepared. A particularly nice touch was when they packed us a complimentary to-go lunch for our train journey out of Kandy, which was a pleasant and unexpected gesture. The Bad The lack of air conditioning was a notable downside, especially given Kandy’s humidity. While the property has a charming colonial feel, the absence of a solid door between the bedroom and bathroom was an odd design choice. Although the toilet and shower do have louvered doors, privacy is somewhat compromised. Another issue was the challenging entry system—we found ourselves locked out one night, which was frustrating and inconvenient. The Ugly Unfortunately, the biggest drawback was the ant problem. While some level of bugs is to be expected in a tropical setting, the sheer number of ants, particularly in the bathroom but also in the bedroom, was hard to ignore. It definitely impacted our overall comfort. Overall, The Coffee Bungalow has a lot of charm and some truly wonderful hospitality, but there are a few quirks and inconveniences that might not suit every traveler. If you’re prepared for a bit of rustic charm and can handle the lack of AC and privacy, the warm service and great food may make up for the downsides.

I took shelter from the rain in front of this hotel. The clerk warmly invited me to rest inside and ordered ice cream. I actually booked this hotel for the first time. The location is great and it’s right by the lake.

Хозяин вежливый, готовый помочь, но прижимистый. Например, за ту же цену за завтрак в городе можно поесть дешевле. Мебель нормальная, матрас хороший. Есть душ, но вода холодная и водонагреватель не успевает нагревать. Неплохо оборудована кухня. Есть микроволновка, электрочайник и холодильник. В жилой комнате можно включать вентилятор. У него 5 скоростей. Самое плохое в доме это подъезд. Высоко и неудобно. Ночью дорога освещается лишь частично. Не для пеших прогулок вечерами.
