Me and my wife got married here in 2019 and we’d always planned to come back at some point. We stayed in the Dales room which was lovely and modern. It had a very comfy bed (queen size?), a nice modern bathroom (separate bath and shower), there is plenty of space in this type of room, AC, tea and coffee making facilities (biscuits, crisps & chocolate bars etc) fridge, room service available, TV and a nice terrace over looking the lake at the back although we didn’t use it as it’s late April and was chilly. Arrived on the Friday 24th April around 4pm, check in was easy, not long after check in we had drinks in the bar and then our evening meal next to the log fire around 6:30 / 7ish in the main restaurant in the evening, the food and drink is very good, typical hotel prices for a pint of Moretti (£6.50), the cocktails however were reasonable at £10 each, usually they are between £15 / £20 out in Leeds etc. We both had steak which was cooked lovely, prices for food again I’d say typical for a hotel, £36 per steak. I think our total bill throughout the Friday was around £170 this was for food and drink, again reasonable? The Saturday we attended the spa, this for me is where I feel it could be improved, I’m comparing the spa here to the Crow Wood Hotel & Spa resort in Burnley. At the Coniston spa there is a swimming pool, 2 x hot tubs outside over looking the lake, sauna and steam room and for me there wasn’t much in the way of different pools, massaging water jets etc, relaxation areas etc, don’t get me wrong it’s not bad but I’ve been to better. As said, we had our wedding day here, it’s a special place to us and we would always return however I do think there are better equipped spas, we didn’t have a massage or any treatments so I cannot comment on that. Its a solid 4.5 out 5 for me, it’s a lovely place, lovely location, the room we had was decent, I’ve seen some reviews slating the rooms, I can only think they’ve paid for entry level rooms (you get what you pay for). I would will return.
