Albergo molto carino nel centro di Skiathos. I ragazzi della reception e tutti i membri dello staff sono stati fantastici. Purtroppo il giudizio negativo è determinato dal fatto che per 4 giorni non ho mai avuto l’acqua calda in camera e, nonostante i reclami, il problema non è mai stato risolto e sono stato costretto a fare sempre la doccia fredda. L’albergo è convenzionato per la cena con il ristorante Carnayo, consiglio vivamente di andarci, a mio avviso uno dei migliori di Skiathos.

GOOD POINTS Brilliant location for town and bus stop. Really nice staff. Fab breakfast with a glorious view. Comfortable bed. Shower so powerful it could double as a patio cleaner. Always hot water. Housekeeping excellent and did a thorough job every day. NOT SO GOOD. Basically our room. We Booked a standard room so didn't expect a sea view or anything but I did expect something a little better than allocated . It was what they call a basement room and they have small terraces with a couple of sun beds on them. The room itself (115) was just the same as all the other rooms except, because of its position, got hardly any natural light at all. I'd wake up in the mornings and still think it was the middle of the night and had to physically go outside and crane my neck to see the sky so I could guage what the weather was doing. We had to have the lights on all the time. It was also damp and all my clothes, even the unworn ones, hanging in the doorless wardrobe felt damp when I was packing to leave. The bed sheets felt damp on our final two nights too. I'm not sure if they were already damp when the clean ones went on the bed the day before, or it was the general damp atmosphere after a couple of rainy days that made them so. Luckily it was not cold so I slept without covers on. That room should be decommissioned and used as storage for cleaning equipment.

We stayed at the Alkyon for 2 weeks from the 12th - 26th August. Upon arrival we were greeted by the friendly hotel reception team who quickly checked us in to our room. This hotel is perfectly places for Skiathos town, having restaurants on the doorstep and right on the water front and within easy walking distance to the old and new ports. The hotel rooms are spacious and clean, we stayed in room 208 on the ground floor with a partial side see view. We stayed bed & breakfast and I have to say the breakfast was amazing and we were spoilt for choice. Thank you to the restaurant team for their service and quality of food and presentation The view from the terrace over the harbour was fabulous, what a way to start your day eating breakfast whilst watching all the boats in the harbour, The pool was ideal if you did not want to go to the beach which is a bus ride away from the hotel (€3 to all the different beach locations and the bus stop is just around the corner from the hotel). Alternatively you can go to the Tennis Club which is 5 minutes walk from the hotel and has a pool, sun beds and restaurant/bar as the hotel pool had limited sun beds. However, we managed to get a sun bed every day during our stay. The hotel provide towels for the pool. The bar staff were great, big shout out to Elsa who was very funny, Monika and Stella for serving us drinks around the pool and seating area. The pool food menu was good and the portion sizes were really good. The hotel was spotless and the atmosphere was tranquil and relaxing. We would definitely stay here again and would like to thank all the hotel team for making our stay a memorable one

Been staying at the alkyon twice a year for over 20 years love it even better now it's had a make over though it's a lot dearer and the rooms are all different rates the front rooms were same price as others all those years ago Been to other hotels in skiathos we love this the best

The Alkyon is well appointed with a delightful staff who are very invested in the travelers staying at the hotel. It’s clean, fresh and modern (not fancy). The breakfast is superb and some rooms have water views. If your goal is to stay in the town of Skiathos (as opposed to the many resorts and smaller hotels elsewhere on the island), this is a good choice. Added benefit is that the Alkyon is off the beaten track, in a quiet area away from the busy streets with tourists, restaurants and nightclubs.
