This is a lovely B&B decorated very simple but nice. It’s clean and the staff were sweet and friendly. Giovanni is such a wonderful host and couldn’t have been more helpful. LOCATION is fantastic! It’s close to everything and we walked to the Island of Ortigia every day, sometimes twice a day.

If you’re travelling to Syracuse, on Sicily’s east coast, Photoguest B&B is an excellent choice for accommodation. Comfort, cleanliness, location made this an extremely enjoyable stay. Our host, Giovanni, was personable and very helpful.

We stayed here at the end of a self organised train tour of Italy. Due to train issues from the mainland to Sicily we ended up arriving at the property much later than we had hoped. Giovanni kept in touch with us and despite us being so late was there to welcome us at the property when we finally arrived. There area few steps into the property and then there is a lift to the hotel. The communal areas were very clean and there were books and magazines to read. Giovanni showed us to our room, which was a nice size with a lovely bathroom and very clean. We had not booked breakfast but Giovanni very kindly let us add breakfast for the next day even though it was short notice. The breakfast room was set out nicely and there was a good selection of food including warm croissants and local jams. Our room had a large balcony and you could even see the sea from it! All the staff were very friendly and helpful. Giovanni provided us with some great places to eat and visit. The location is good for the train station, Ortigia and there is a supermarket around the corner.

Many thanks to Giovanni for his great organization, prompt communication, and hospitality! We stayed here for a couple of nights and it was a great base for Ortigia and for the archeological park. Giovanni sent us all the info that we needed to park nearby and find the B & B, and provided us great recommendations for local restaurants. We were upgraded to a deluxe room-- the shower was great and the bed was extremely comfortable, the best we had on our trip!

My husband and I stayed 3 nights in Siracusa at this wonderful B&B in early July and had an awesome stay! The accommodations on Ortigia island were either out of our budget or if within our budget, we didn’t feel the room/amenities were worth the price point —Giovanni’s place rivaled a lot of the rooms I had seen during my research and our stay ended up exceeding our expectations. We had the sunset room and it had a modern design, was spacious, had a comfortable bed, good sized bathroom, a long terrace that is shared with other rooms but you have your own section with view, and a wonderfully working AC for the hot summer. Even when coming back to the room at the end of a long day of exploring, the room still felt nice and cool even though the AC was off! Noise was never an issue even though you are located near a busy street. With the windows closed it’s sound proof! We had a very restful sleep each night. Location of this B&B is great - you are close to explore the ruins but also only about 12-15 mins from Ortigia by foot. You really get to experience the local culture from both sides, especially weekend nights when the city comes alive. From check-in to check-out Giovanni was the most wonderful host, giving a thorough orientation to the B&B, geography, nearby attractions etc. We really appreciated the custom touches and his restaurant recommendations which were all excellent. Breakfast was basic but wonderful in the communal space where we also had the opportunity to meet and mingle with other guests. We were more than satisfied with our choice to stay at Giovanni’s - he makes you feel like you are old friends! I would definitely recommend this place to any friends or family that want to stay in this area!

We enjoyed staying in Photoguest for many reasons. The location is excellent: a few minutes walk to the train and bus station, 10-15 minutes walk to the old city, 10-15 minutes walk to the ruins. The room is comfortable and clean, the breakfast is basic but delicious. And of course, there is the host, who goes to great lengths to welcome you, make you comfortable, and acquaint you with Siracusa. Giovanni’s recommendations were priceless, and thanks to him we felt like in a visit to a friend rather than in a hotel. Definitely recommend, and would love to come back.
