Donna Coraly Country Boutique Hotel

We had 3 nights here - our room was beautiful the grounds are lovely and very extensive there are 2 pools but I always had the large one to myself! The staff are quite delightful so helpful and friendly. The food in the restaurant is wonderful and beautifully prepared and presented. It’s just so peaceful !

We stayed fior 3 Nights and wished that we had planned a full week. This is a really beautiful resort, particularly cared with love and attention by its owner. The grounds are amazing and the rooms beautifully decorated. We also had dinner at their fine dining restaurant which was good. Servitosi super friendly and faultless. Strongly recommend for a romantic stay or a girlfriends weekend.

We arrived at Donna Coraly to be greeted by the lovely and enthusiastic Corrado who took great pleasure in showing us around the beautiful estate, telling us the fascinating history (it was the site of the Italy Alliance armistice signing in 2043) and showing us the gardens and grounds. Despite a long drive across country from Scopello we were charmed and at ease and then excited at the prospect of dining at La Raituna, the restaurant on site that is now operated by Vincenzo di Falco, a celebrated chef (which we discovered, was for very good reason). Our room Angelica had the most comfortable bed I have ever slept in, a private garden and a dressing room…Ortigia toiletries… beautifully decorated and spotlessly clean, lovely touches like our own flip flops (mine broke in Scopello). The only sadness I had was leaving earlier than I hoped due to the Catania air traffic diverted to Trapani and consequently our stay was cut short, the only time of our holiday I felt rather tearful… Lucia the owner was so welcoming, it really is something special that she has created and continues to develop… now 9 or 10 rooms, a beautiful orangerie and 2 natural bio pools… enough space to completely relax and more staff than guests… it really was practically perfect in every way… I want to go back for my birthday… please please stay open in November - just so I can return and stay for longer! Grazie mille for looking after us so well - Donna Coraly is somewhere special.

Donna Coraly is the best place I've been too in Sicily, small homely place with beautiful interior and exterior. The food is something really special, breakfast, lunch and dinner all. A real treasure and very close to Syracusa. Definetly one of the very best stays I've ever had in my life.

We found this wonderful place as I was searching for the chef, Vincezo Di falco, after discovering he had closed his fantastic restaurant in Syracuse. Although we only spent the day here, on the return to Catania at the end of our holiday, we are so glad we did and intend to stay one or two nights on our return to Sicily. On arrival, we were met at the car and our bags carried to the pool area, where we had the choice of wonderfully comfortable loungers, each with beautifully soft towels and flip flops ready waiting. A complimentary glass of prosecco was then brought to us. Soon Lucia, the owner who's vision is responsible for this whole project, appeared to say "hello" and, when I asked if could see a room, proceeded to give us a detailed tour of the who place. We had lunch in the orangery, which, whilst not Vincenzo's full dinner menu, was, as we have come to expect from him, absolutely first class. Muhammad is again the "front of house" with regards to food, and so the service was first class too. As I mentioned at the beginning of this review, it all started when I found Vincenzo's previous restaurant had closed, which I found hard to understand but, having visited Donna Coraly, I now understand why he has moved here. The whole estate has been developed with thought, imagination, flair, and care to every detail.

We stayed 4 nights at Donna Coraly and thoroughly enjoyed our time there. There weren’t many other guests so the ambience was very peaceful, which was just perfect for the start of our holiday. The location is great as a base for exploring the area – it’s not too far from the main sights but far enough away to provide a calm respite and a chance to recharge at the end of a busy day. We weren’t too lucky with the weather so couldn’t make the most of the beautiful gardens, pool and outdoor seating area, but did find our room to be comfortable and characterful, with the private terrace looking out towards the gardens offering additional space to linger when the sun did come out. We had breakfast and dinner at the hotel each day and very much enjoyed the food and drinks we had, sampling local dishes and wines, often accompanied by a chat with the owner, Lucia, who was very warm and welcoming, as were all of the other team members we met. This personal service made us feel like valued guests and we would definitely consider returning for a second visit.

Donna Coraly felt like a personalized exclusive resort in the Italian countryside. We were only there for two nights and wish we could have stayed longer. Everyone who worked there was extremely welcoming and friendly, from the server at breakfast to the two waiters at the restaurant (who made an excellent *****ni and were so fun and friendly). The chef was also very talented and the dinners were a real treat. It was also a pleasure to meet the owner, who has restored the buildings to a very high quality and shared some of her family's history. The manager, Claudia, is a true gem who helped me locate a phone that I had left behind in the Venice airport, and remarkably I was able to have it sent back to the US with her help. The resort is near Syracuse and Noto and I would recommend it for people who want a quiet luxurious getaway in southeast Sicily. We would love to return!

We stayed here in August during a family vacation. This place is truly memorable! The level of service, the staff, the food make it a truly unforgettable experience. The staff catered to all of our family needs with a big smile on their faces, mind you we were traveling with three small kids and grandparents. The personalized service went as far as making us homemade baby food, a picnic setup for my toddlers by the pool, daily organized private tours - every detail was looked after to make sure we had truly unique experience with a local touch. The property is very charming, and nice base to explore southeast Sicily. The rooms are very comfortable, and housekeeping was impeccable. We enjoyed the little garden spaces in front of the rooms. Everything in the room is hand selected by the owner of the hotel, everything has some sort of purpose. After our stay here, we moved onto the new Four Seasons in Taormina which was stunning - however, this hotel left a VERY special place in our hearts! We can't wait for more people to experience it!

I stayed here in June with my husband and two teenagers for two nights, and we wish we could have stayed longer. We stayed in 7 places over our 2 weeks in Sicily, and Donna Coraly was our favorite by far. Pros: Gorgeous rooms, well-appointed including hair conditioner and tissues (not givens in Italy), complimentary mini bar, excellent mattress and linens, excellent shower, quiet. We slept great. Gardens are lovely and the pool is really nice and relaxing, and was very warm in June. The pool was also clean. We loved the towels that had a special pocket to slip over the backs of the chairs so the towel never slips down! Brilliant! Alex at the bar is a master of drink concoctions - we loved every creation he made for us. We normally do not dine at our hotels, but we had dinner here both nights as they were the best meals of our two weeks in Sicily. The breakfast is also incredible. Everything here is HOMEMADE. Above all, the service is perfect. Claudia, the manager, is sweet, accommodating and helpful. She made beach club reservations for us, recommended a beautiful gorge to swim in, and was so warm and welcoming. She cares about her job and the comfort of her clients. The waitstaff is also extremely well-trained. Alex saw me swat a bug away from a distance and immediately approached me offering bug spray. Every staff member offered this high-level of service, but in a friendly and not overbearing way. Every detail at Donna Coraly is thought of, and beautifully executed. Cons: It is hard to think of any. If pressed, the tissue box could be bigger, as well as the wastebasket in the bathroom. This is how hard we had to look to find fault with this resort. If you are traveling to Sicily, you MUST stay at Donna Coraly!
