Two weeks ago, we stayed at this hotel. Initially, we booked two nights. When we booked, we specifically booked a refurbished room. The other rooms were very outdated. When we arrived, the owner gave us an 'upgrade'. Ofcourse, we ended up in one of the rooms that wasn't refurbished. We asked why, but she kept saying it was an upgrade because of the new air-conditioning. We didn't see this as an upgrade, but there was nothing to do about it. We decided to just accept it, but when we inspected the room further, it got worse. The bed was like sleeping on the floor, the bathroom was old, and the shower was full of mold. We had no choice to stay that night because it was already evening. The next morning, we went and complained, but she got very defensive. We told her we were leaving because of the old room and the mold. She knew about the mold in the bathroom, but she didn't care. Not even an apology. She kept talking over us, and even said she was glad we left. I get that it's hard to receive critique, but you are working in a service business. I would be ashamed if someone came to tell me there was mold in the bathroom. Overall experience was an old, outdated hotel that doesn't deliver what is promised on the website. If you sell refurbished rooms (like its explicitly says on the website), give your costumers refurbished rooms.
