Ibis Setubal

Fijn hotel, wel een beetje afgelegen. Goed ontbijt Schone kamers.

It was a nice, comfortable stay at the hotel in January 2024. The staff was nice and always helpful, assisting when needed, like in getting a taxi or borrowing an iron. The room was clean with a very comfortable bed and sheets. The only thing missing was a fridge/minibar and the pool was closed, obviously as it was January. And the city center/downtown is not close to the hotel as in walking distance, you should get a taxi or Uber which is like less than a 10 minutes drive.

I have just returned from this hotel and I could not fault it in regard to the hotel cleanliness and hospitality. Most of the hotel staff have good English and are there if you need any help or if you need to order a cab. The continental breakfast was lovely with lots of food on offer. Good beer and lovely seating area around the pool for rest and a chill. Do not buy food as an evening meal as these are just ready meal and are not nice, no fresh food prepared here. The reason why I gave it 4 stars is that the hotel is in the middle of no where. There are no convenience shops, no bus routes, no trains. If you need to go some where or go out for the day you need to order a cab/taxi. The hotel is on the main motorway so you are unable to walk anywhere as it is dangerous. If you are just needing a rest and are not planning on going out of the hotel it's highly recommended but for sight seeing of Setubal, I would try a different hotel unless you have spare money for cabs.

Stayed at the Ibis for a few days and the location isn't great as it's not actually in Setubal. It's more than an hour's walk into town with some stretches of the road on highways with no pavements so it was a bit awkward. We arrived in the evening on Sunday and there were no restaurants open nearby & the hotel restaurant wasn't open either so we had to drive to Burger King to get a meal. There are only two floors at the hotel and rooms are along a long corridor so it's quite noisy with the movement of guests and the banging of doors. The room itself is a room of two halves where the bedroom bit looks quite dated & window was old but the bathroom looks modern and recently refurbished. It's like they couldn't quite be bothered to refurbish the whole place! The room was a good size with ample storage space & did feel clean. The bed was comfortable & the hotel does seem to be making an effort in terms of environmental credentials - toiletries are in dispensers which can be topped up & they smelt v nice! Also there are recycling bins in reception. Some things can be improved though. There is no bin in the room and no tea/ coffee making facilities or a fridge which would have been convenient. The quilt is a tad thick for warm weather. The hair dryer wasn't very useful as it just blows out warm air & takes forever to dry my hair even when it's on the highest setting. There weren't many electric sockets in the room, with the main ones near the window so if it's open when it's raining, they could get wet. The door to the toilet opens in an awkward way so it blocks access to the rest of the room. We paid for brekkie one day (7.50€ per person) & the good thing was the availability of fresh juices and the environmentally friendly jam & preserve dispensers. Bread rolls & croissants were cold & didn't seem fresh; cold boiled eggs tasted sour so they could have been off. We were glad to see pasteis de nata on offer & the pastry was nice and crisp but the custard was way too sweet, which was a shame. We did enjoy the pool which looked fairly clean other than some weird bits floating in it and the resident cats are adorable! Pool towels can be obtained from reception, if needed, which was convenient. If you have access to a car it would be a good place to stay for the price but if you are on public transport, you would be better off staying somewhere alot more central with easy access to the delights of Setubal!

Non ho avuto il (dis)piacere di soggiornare in questo hotel, e dopo la mia esperienza con la direzione, dubito fortemente che vorrò farlo in futuro. Il mio scambio con la direttrice ha messo in evidenza un atteggiamento arrogante e completamente privo di empatia. Nonostante non avessi chiesto nulla di irrealizzabile, la risposta è stata rigida e sgradevole, dimostrando un totale disinteresse per il cliente. Un hotel dovrebbe distinguersi non solo per la qualità delle sue stanze, ma soprattutto per l’accoglienza e la disponibilità del suo staff e della direzione. Con una gestione così poco professionale e cieca alle esigenze altrui, non posso che sconsigliare questa struttura a chiunque cerchi un’esperienza davvero ospitale.

Impossível pedir mais pelo preço. Excelente opção preço/qualidade em Setúbal para quem, por exemplo, tal como nós queira uma base para explorar o conselho e limítrofes. Verdade que as instalações são antigas e no quarto onde ficamos o peso dessa idade era notório, mas isso não afetou as nossas dormidas que foi essa a razão principal da nossa reserva. Limpeza impecável e sem nenhum problema na reposição de toalhas e papel higiénico. Os espaços comuns foram renovados, o que dá uma sensação de bem estar e acolhimento. Reservamos com pequeno almoço incluído o que revelou ser uma boa escolha pois a qualidade e a quantidade da oferta de alimentos é realmente muito boa para o nível desta unidade hoteleira. Verdade que este hotel é um franchising da marca mas corresponde em todos os níveis aos standards, não notamos diferença. Tem estacionamento gratuito, o WiFi é excelente e ter uma piscina para os dias de maior calor com toalhas grátis é top. Quanto ao staff, sempre sorridente e disponível. Simpatia e empatia estão presentes, o que fez com que a nossa estadia tenha sido muito boa. O nosso muito obrigado a todos! Recomendamos este hotel.
