Ulasan Pestana Sintra Golf Resort & Spa Hotel

A family resort full of kids, probably suitable for their needs, not ours, unfortunately. Not really the best experience for a couple trying to enjoy their stay. Both inside and outside pool full of children, ended up not swimming at all. There was only a buffet dinner available at the restaurant or some small snacks at the bar. We paid 15eur each for a ”caesar” salad, with the ingredients: lettuce, bread crutons, some burned bacon, chicken resembling a prebaked chicken from Lidl unfrosted from the freezer, and caesar sauce. Breakfast had some more choices, and gladly some fresh fruits, but no fresh juices like in all other hotels during our stay in Portugal, only the cheapest orange juice you can probably get. Even though the staff was very nice, the resort is quite run down looking and rooms very basic. Probably an ok stay for a family with smaller kids, couples try somewhere else.

Top notch facility with a fantastic pool and sauna. The only downside is this place is out in the middle of nowhere but I walked a lot from the train station.

La ubicación del hotel no es del todo buena. No está cerca de nada, necesitarás el coche para llegar a cualquier sitio. El hotel en si se ve que tiene sus años. Las habitaciones están bien pero honestamente no para el precio que se paga. El agua de la piscina interior estaba fría, por lo que no pudimos disfrutar del spa. El buffet deja mucho que desear. La atencion del personal fue muy buena.

Forget the photos on website! First of all being a member of pestana and staying in multiple locations all over Portugal … this is far the worst place in terms of staff( they are not nice, not very polite, they don’t talk the truth and they make up stories about a lot). For exemple I’ve arrived late evening and I was asked for the first time to pay in advance 600€ almost for my stay from Tuesday to Friday, the receptionist who was in charge at time told me that the managers and responsible managers gave changed the rules and now they have to charge fully at arrival, it’s not just unprofessional but illegal to charge for a service that has not been fully provided. They maybe don’t know the law and so they take advantage on guests, specially those who aren’t up to an argument or to write on red book… w I don’t mind and I did myself a complain on red book… on next day I came back to my room and housekeeping haven’t left the bottle of water that for almost 15 years of being in pestana resorts I get daily as complimentary… the manager called my room and told me they only leave one bottle on welcoming first day of arrival w is not true again… I always get in all the pestanas daily a complimentary bottle of water and after having a surgery I needed to drink a lot of water and take medicines and stay indoors and was just unpleasant to experience that all… the staff is clearly not well trained and I wonder if the managers and receptionists deserve this job and if they should not give the place to a person who would be happy to work and do the job professionally without hiding the truth and who smile and are nicer to guests. Another note… building badly preserved , cleaning isn’t that amazing , facilities are old fashion, tiny gym, pools aren’t that big and spacious special during summer when you get imigrants families on the resort and have 1/2/3 children to play… inside it’s old fashion too… treatments aren’t that innovative on the spa menu… the restaurant indeed has lovely staff, very pleasant and kind. That’s all for now. This time I have taken a double room as I’m alone but I also have stayed in the suits double floor with kitchnet area and isn’t that modern either… but convenient when with child and geo imigrants holidays on toilets the showers are the worst, have cheap curtains from China shop and just basic shower head… cheap also! They only provide tissue paper and roll paper & shower gel and hand gel for wash cleaning show cloth and shower cap cheap also… nothing else provided! The basic of basics basically… you can walk around the area but just houses to see… a 35m walk supermarket and few pharmacies and clinics… a big gym also world class nearby and this are the positives of all… the staff need to be more educated and well trained and polite to guests.

My stay at Pestana Sintra was deeply disappointing. The staff were incredibly rude and unhelpful, making me feel like an intruder rather than a guest. After finishing the single bottle of water provided in the room on the first day, I was shocked to find that there were no replacements offered. I even had to kill two cockroaches in my room, which was both disturbing and unacceptable. The breakfast, although appearing to offer variety, was of low quality, with third-rate cold cuts and scrambled eggs cooked in old oil. Despite this being my third stay due to the hotel’s proximity to my office, I was given a room overlooking the parking lot, only to find out later that better rooms were available but not offered to me. It seems they didn’t want to bother with switching rooms and keys. When I requested an iron, I was met with reluctance and received it with a dirty ironing board. There were no basic amenities like conditioner, slippers, or proper shampoo—just a cheap all-in-one body and hair wash. The shower pressure was so weak that rinsing off the shampoo was a challenge. My colleagues, all eight of us, shared the same negative experiences. This stay was far below expectations and certainly not worth repeating.

The hotel is within a residential estate which is quite prestigious. The hotel is very clean, rooms good sizes and really helpful and friendly staff. The breakfast buffet is good, snacks/light meals are available at the bar. The restaurant in the evening serves buffet food only. You need a car or taxi to go anywhere. A shortage of sun loungers and seating around the pool to accommodate the guests. Outdoors a small children's pool and a larger one, which is nice but very busy. There is an indoor pool, Turkish bath and sauna.

Stayed here as we were attending a wedding nearby. Had a great stay that went too quick! Comfortable, Clean and Cosy this was just what we needed. The team was very friendly and welcoming- Thanks Andre, Mariana and all the Team! We will be back 😁

Not a four star hotel, and on check in we were told breakfast was included and asked what time we would like to book for. Then at checkout they spring the trap that it is not included if you have booked through a 3rd party and you have to pay for it €12 per person per day. The staff are obviously very used to this as they were very defensive immediately. To add to it the cooked breakfast was cold every day. We also decided to try the evening buffet one evening which again was not very nice and had very little choice. Would not recommend the hotel based on this experience.

We left our phone and adaptor charger in the hotel. First, they confirmed that they had it and told us that we could go and collect it at the reception with our contact information. When we went to get it, they told us that they had no idea about it. And, asked us to wait for the call and that they will get back to us shortly, but they didn't, therefore we decided to go back again to enquire about it. And, again the staff had no idea what we were talking about. The situation was not handled professionally and with sincerity. It definately made us feel very uncomfortable.

Great place to stay and spend your holidays. Surrounded by nature and good facilities with good service. Refreshing experience. The location is a bit remote, therefore it would be great if you come by car. Thanks Pestana! Hope to come and visit again.

Tranquil surroundings in quite a built up area. One of the few hotels with a decent sized indoor pool that one can actually swim in. Room was comfortable although the air conditioning was erratic. A big omission was lack of body lotion, considering the sporting nature of the hotel. Breakfast and dinner was buffet style, dinner was unimaginative e.g. 2 fish dishes in pretty much the same potato creamy sauce.
