We had a memorable 10-night stay at North Santorini Luxury Spa Hotel, with many positives and a few drawbacks that are worth mentioning. The highlights were definitely the exceptional staff and breathtaking views. Special thanks to the restaurant and bar team—Hamza, Kimonas, Eleni, Nefeli, Rania, and both Anastasises—who made our stay so warm and welcoming. Hamza was especially kind, and I’ll miss practicing French with him. Manager Anastasis greeted us every day with a cheerful “Kalimera” or “Kalispera,” and our first night felt like a scene from White Lotus thanks to their hospitality. Housekeeping and pool cleaning staff were also very friendly and pleasant to interact with. The Premium Suite was spacious and beautifully designed with amazing views. However, the private pool—as well as the spa and main pools—were too cold to use, which was unfortunate given the season. We understood the weather could impact pool cleanliness, but had to request cleaning multiple times. Upon arrival, debris (including a bottle cap) was floating in our pool, and even after we were told it had been cleaned, it wasn’t. It was only after sending photos that it was properly addressed. We also experienced some inconsistencies with reception. Initially, the team was attentive, but toward the end of our stay, communication and follow-through declined. For example, our pool bed was blown away by strong winds on the 25th. We informed reception and asked for it to be returned, but it never was—we ended up moving it back ourselves. We were also offered complimentary daily spa access due to the cold pool, which we appreciated. However, when we tried to book a slot on the 25th, we were told the spa was full. Reception offered a 30-minute slot by rescheduling another couple, which we declined out of courtesy. We would’ve appreciated more proactive communication so we could have planned better. A serious concern arose on the 24th when a drone was flown over our suite. We were told it belonged to an influencer staying at the hotel. We saw the guests operating it near the main pool and immediately reported it. The evening receptionist confirmed this violated hotel policy and noted it, advising us to speak to the manager the next morning, which we did. However, we’re unsure what actions were taken. Privacy was a major reason we chose this hotel, and this incident was quite unsettling—we now feel the need to monitor online content to ensure we weren’t filmed. Despite these issues, the overall warmth, friendliness, and professionalism of most of the staff really stood out. With some improvements—particularly in communication, pool maintenance, and privacy enforcement—this property could truly offer a five-star luxury experience. We’d definitely consider staying again, but will weigh the pros and cons and carefully choose the season to ensure we can fully enjoy all amenities.
