West Beach Inn, a Coast Hotel

Loved the whole vibe here. Very quaint! I forgot a nice piece of jewelry, and they found it and held it for me until I was able to go back and get it!!! Get a room overlooking the courtyard if you can. The pool was very nice and private. Great location.

This was probably our 10th stay at the West Beach Inn over the past 11 years. The properly, while older, is beautiful and well-maintained. The location cannot be better. We love walking through the nearby park, up to SBCC and back down through the harbor back to our room. Easy walk to the wharf and State Street. We love the harbor view rooms and balconies but think the courtyard rooms are equally as relaxing with their patio chairs. Such a great place for relaxing and reading a book. Parking is free and ample, continental breakfast is convenient and sufficient. Staff is efficient, welcoming and responsive. West Beach Inn is our home away from home when we are in SB.

Stayed here 1 night & really enjoys it. Parking is available on site. It’s a ten min (max) walk into town. They offer 2 hour bike hire for free from about 10 mins away. Breakfast was nothing special Staff was friendly. They have a pool & jacuzzi will 11pm I think. Had dinner at a place called Zaytoon which was amazing!! Next time I’m staying longer!

Overall the property was nice. Amazing location. Clean and well appointed spacious rooms. Beautiful garden and pool area. Breakfast was ok. Only issue was we had to ask for toasts, bagels, muffins and eggs from manager every time which was a bit of a hassle.

This is a great hotel for families or couples! We stayed on a weekend and were impressed with the modern decor in an older hotel. Service as excellent and we had a ground floor room with two queen beds. There are multiple usb ports throughout the room and the bathroom was also modern and clean. Water pressure in the shower was excellent! Location of the hotel was walking distance to multiple restaurants including the Wharf. Parking is free and easy to find a spot even in the street if needed. Wine reception every evening with lemonade and hot cocoa for the kids. Did not try the continental breakfast but looks like other guests did. No noise at night while we slept despite facing the street. Our room also had a private patio. Definitely go for the ground floor room with the patio. We will be back again!

Extremely comfortable place to stay. The king bed in our room (317) was large and firm. The room was quiet at night, despite being on a busy street. I slept extremely well every night — and that doesn’t usually happen when I travel! The room was spacious, as was the balcony overlooking the marina. The location is great — an easy walk to State Street and the pier and right across from the beach/marina. There’s an excellent Italian restaurant (Toma’s) and bar right next door, as well. We didn’t use the pool or hot tub, but I stuck a finger in the pool to check the temperature, and it was just right. The front desk staff were friendly and helpful. The only thing that kept me from rating this hotel five stars was the included breakfast. It’s fairly basic; I would have appreciated more protein and fruit options. There are fancier hotels in the area. But with its convenient location and spacious, comfortable rooms, the West Beach Inn is a standout. I recommend it and will definitely return!

My husband & I spent a weekend away here. We really enjoyed our stay. Parking was easy, everything was walkable, & the staff was really nice & accommodating. They even asked us what time we’d like our room cleaned. Most places don’t offer that anymore, much less, the time you want it. Such a nice touch. We felt it was a good value for the money. The breakfast was perfect! It’s nothing fancy, but had everything we needed. Toast, bagels, oatmeal, yogurt, cereal hard-boiled eggs, juice & most important, coffee. That alone saved us $75 per day. The hotel also provided bike rentals, which included 2-hours-free for 2 bikes. My husband & I took advantage of it & enjoyed our time riding down State Street. We would definitely stay here again.

In July 2023, my family and I had the pleasure of spending one night at the West Beach Inn in Santa Barbara. Although our stay was brief, we found several aspects of the hotel to be quite appealing. The best part of the hotel is its location. Situated right by the beautiful Santa Barbara beach, we enjoyed easy access to the shoreline and found it perfect for a leisurely walk. Additionally, its proximity to the heart of Santa Barbara made it convenient for exploring the city's attractions, shops, and dining options. One delightful surprise during our stay was the excellent coffee provided in our room. Having quality coffee readily available allowed us to kickstart our morning on a high note and was a thoughtful touch. In summary, our one-night stay at the West Beach Inn was a brief but pleasant experience.

Staying here was such a wonderful experience! The staff was so friendly and provided exceptional customer service, the rooms are clean, well appointed including comfortable beds and pillows, the grounds are meticulous and beautifully landscaped. Pool area is very relaxing. Breakfast and Happy Hour were lovely and very much appreciated. Awesome location! Would totally stay here again!!
