Amadea - Cityhotel Salzburg

The hotel is in a good location, 20 minutes walk from the railway station and 15 from the city centre. It's a 'staff-free' hotel. You get a code to get in and a WhatsApp contact if you have any problems. There's free coffee and fruit tea, plus chocolates and sweets, but no normal (breakfast) tea. The booking is room only, but you get a random pastry left outside your room each morning, which is a nice touch. We had room 3 on the ground floor. The view out of the window is of the back door of the kitchen of the Indian restaurant next door, but we didn't have a problem with noise or odours from there. The decor is very nice. The only problem we had was that one of our sheets was stained. This wasn't a fresh stain, the sheets had been washed but this stain hadn't come out. It took a couple of tries via WhatsApp to get this changed. Otherwise, everything was great.

Stayed for 2 nights, room was good and warm, we was on the 2nd floor and we only heard other people twice briefly during our stop. Room was comfortable with a shower room and separate WC, slept well. A nice pastry delivered daily to the room, coffee, and sweets available on the 1st floor landing. A gentle 15 min walk and you was in Salzburg old town or similar to the Tain station.. There is no face to face contact, but that suited us just fine as we had no issues.. Very pleased

We are not fussy travellers but the bed and pillows were plain uncomfortable. Bathroom and toilet are small, and there is no physical check in or receptionist (everything via online and you key in a code to get in). They gave us some bagel/pretzel in the morning in a bag in front of the door, which wasnt every tasty. Location was a little further but within 15 mins walk to main city attractions. Bus ride is convenient - stop at Grillsplatz stop which is like 5 stops from city center but only takes 8mins or so.
