"The apartment itself is lovely and in a great location. The main issue is with the lack of communication and service of the management company. We were advised that we would be met at the location by the consierge for the key and we had confirmed this by phone the previous evening. Only after we arrived did we notice that a very late message had been sent saying that no one would be available to meet us and that we would have to return to the train station to pick up the key! We had to almost beg to have someone from the office come to finally deliver the key. Departure instructions were vague and we were not advised that we needed to unlock the main entry before depositing the key in the mailbox. As a result in a panicked state we had to awaken a neighbour at 0630 to let us out in order to catch our taxi to the station."

"I originally booked a city view king room but was given a room facing an inner courtyard. It wasn't even a proper room, more like a small annex. I went to the front desk to complain, and the staff showed me three rooms. One was exactly like the pictures of the room I booked, but it was in the basement. The second one was even worse. The third one had a view, but it had a 1.5-meter bed instead of a king, and it was also on a mezzanine level. I paid for a city view room and got a standard room! Is the hotel really that short on cash that they have to operate like this?"

"One of my worst nights at a hotel. It’s not completely the hotel’s fault that there was a heat wave these days, but with +34C outside and no A/C the walls were basically like heaters and opening the window (even the door) did absolutely nothing. I was sweating in the night and had a really bad sleep. To make things worse, there were people outside the window screaming till around 1am and loud machines cleaning the streets from around 7am. The bed mattress was also rather thin. I somewhat liked the location as it is close to the centre, but it’s not an area where you feel comfortable walking at night."

"New Hotel. The Spa area is so small that you actually need to book it well in advance if you are planning to use it.. As most likely the slot which you would like is already taken. It's charged per hour... Overnight parking is €19. Very irritating is the shower in the bathroom as the water goes between too hot and too cold on its own pattern and you can't control it.. Typical for the buildings with the plumbing issues, or the water pressure.."

"The hotel's location is excellent. Unfortunately, the room smelled of old carpets, and there was also a strange odor in the bathroom (possibly from the detergent). I opened the window, and the smell went away, but it didn't completely solve the carpet odor, although it did become less noticeable. One of the receptionists doesn't speak English; only a woman, perhaps the second receptionist, speaks English. Otherwise, everything was fine!"

"The Mercure Rouen Hotel is located in the city center, within walking distance of all attractions and food streets. The hotel itself is a typical older European hotel; the facilities and cleanliness are fairly basic, not quite what you'd expect from a four-star hotel. But these are secondary issues. The biggest problem is that most people come here by car, and parking is expensive (19 euros even in the suburbs). You absolutely must confirm the hotel's address with them before you can use the password to enter; otherwise, like us, we wandered around for two hours without finding the entrance. Only after finding the hotel did we get the correct address from the navigation and the password to enter, and the parking lot was extremely small. It was a real ordeal."
