Alkmini Hotel

My wife has visited Alkmini Hotel 25 times or more. This was my 2nd trip, the first being in 1996.. absolutely blown away by the friendly welcoming experience from all Alkmini Staff. Fay, Nikos, Baby Alkmini, Alkmini, Michael, Panyotis and of course Razwan were so helpful and accommodating. At the end of the day, you get what you get for the price you pay, if want 4 star rated rooms go elsewhere and pay £120 a night, but for value for money this place cannot be beaten. We loved every one of the 11 nights here and I cannot wait to return with my wife next year and hopefully for many more years. Like some who have commented on these reviews, I too have travelled extensively taking in hundreds of trips across the world over 20 years or so and I can honestly say this is the most friendly, welcoming and enjoyable trip i have EVER experienced. Mrt Julie and Pete from Cleathorpes, a beautiful couple and engaged in numerous late night chats with most who (like my wife) keep coming back year after year after year. This is testament to the great service and welcome the family accord all visitors. If I could give 6 stars for a warm comfortable experience I would. Thank you Alkmini, you have left me with many happy memories. Look forward to coming over for many years to come...

Just back from a fantastic Two weeks at Alkmini. We arrived late at night and were met by Panos at reception and taken to our rooms. Bottles of water in the fridge which was a nice touch. Down to the pool bar for a quick taste of the draught Zythos which was as good as anticipated. Our son was given an ice cream and I think he enjoyed it as much as we did the Zythos. Up in morning and a Quick Look around the local supermarkets before back to the amazing pool which our son spent most of the next two weeks in). Had the first try of the Gyros and other snacks at lunchtime served by the incredible Foteinh. Always smiling and on hand to help and met the lovely Michael who gave Lewis another ice cream (one of many). Apartments were spotless and exactly what was needed for our stay. Dinner was also incredible and I went to my go to, Stifado for the first night and it melted in the mouth. Complimentary bread and local village sausages also went down well. Our party of me, my wife and mother in law ate here lots of times and tasted, moussaka, pastitsio, souvlaki, Kleftiko and stifado on many occasions. Always tasty and the portions were fantastic. The owners are incredible as are all the family (and not to mention Foteinh and Razwan). Panos and Nikos at night were a great team and had many laughs with them. It’s clear to see why so many guests come year after year. Was very sad to leave and Panos and Razwan helped bring our cases out to the transfer bud last night as we were leaving. Complimentary water for the journey which wasn’t a surprise as was given this every day at the pool (and on occasion when heading up to the room after a few at the bar.) We were treated amazingly by everyone. This place and the people have left an incredible impression on our minds and heart and missing it already. We’ve been coming to this lovely little 2-star family-run hotel for over 20 years with our family, and it never disappoints. It truly feels like a second home. While it may not have the flash of a luxury chain, it more than makes up for it with genuine hospitality and personal touches. From the moment you arrive, the owners greet you like old friends. Nothing is ever too much trouble – whether it’s arranging early breakfasts, recommending local spots, or accommodating last-minute requests. They’re always happy to help with anything you need. The rooms are simple but spotless, with everything you need for a comfortable stay. There’s a warm, lived-in charm that you just don’t get in larger hotels. Breakfast and dinner are always a treat – fresh, home-cooked meals made with care, often using local ingredients, and served with a smile. It’s one of the highlights of staying here and something we always look forward to. If you’re looking for somewhere affordable, welcoming, and full of heart, this place is a rare find. It may be rated two stars, but the service and warmth are five-star in every way. We’re already looking forward to our next visit!
