I stayed here August 2022 as booked by my tour leader Nancy Covey from a company out of California called Festival Tours International. I was assigned along with some others in the tour group rooms on the 3rd floor which are attic rooms, very poor air quality and ventilation limited to a single small window opening to no screen coverage. There is no air conditioning. The window however cannot be left open in the evening, night or early morning as bats were seen and one entered the floor and swept back and forth. The rooms are uninhabitable from additional health measures as for multiple rooms only 2 single toilets on the far end of the hall and by the stairwell are available, a considerable walk at night in the dark or the daytime for that matter. Each toilet is alone without any sink for hand-washing therefore guests after using the toilet then touched the door handle and had to walk down a long hallway, down a flight of stairs to a utility closet with a sink. This utility closet had a utility industrial type of sink with no toilet or shower. The small closet was filled with packages of cleaning materials, stocking supplies for the rooms and toilet paper stockpiles. In order to have a shower I was advised that I could go to another person's room which had a shower on the second floor, introduce myself as presenting to shower and this sharing would be done with 3 other persons not staying in the room. I was concerned about the room and then was offered a second floor room which I was told would be unavailable during the day as it was going to be booked each hour for a body massage. I would be given access after 7 pm to this room after a day in which it was loaded with massage oil fumes and human sweat and odor. The Chateau was presented to us as having a swimming pool which we could enjoy during our 2 night visit but in fact the swimming pool was under construction and not clean. The water was green and cloudy and construction workers were on site during the day. The ground was not finished and was dirt. The air in Chateau from the first floor up was full of stale smoke and must. There are no restaurants in any reasonable vicinity. The bicycles promised to be supplied by the Chateau did not turn out to be there and a supplemental charge was given to the group members who wanted to rent a bike. A very poor sad place. Some of the rooms available were ensuite and large but the air quality and other issues were overall. The floors appeared unwashed and flies which were there on the staircase on check in remained throughout the stay.
