R2 Bahia Kontiki

This hotel is fantastic and in a brilliant location! The staff are very friendly and helpful. The rooms are very spacious and spotlessly clean! Everything about this hotel was great! We came for my husbands birthday and the hotel knocked on the morning of his 40th with cake and a bottle of fizz, it was a lovely touch! We look forward to returning in the future!

Nice hotel, nice location. On cardiac hill so be aware! Not aimed at kids at all. No inflatables, no jumping in. Very quiet Bar closes at 8pm. A lot of steps to get to the pool so not ideal. Noisy outside of a night as all the bars are tipping their empties into recycling constantly, not ideal when you have kids

Currently our last day here waiting to check out. Stayed here with my partner for 2 weeks in room 3205 which I had requested a sea view room with loungers on it of possible, and it is exactly what we got. It was a side sea view, but we were still very happy with it and the loungers on the balcony got the sun from 12pm until the late evening, which was great for tanning and not having to reserve sun beds. Cleaning every 2 days was great, room was in perfect condition no complaints at all. We had 2 maintenance issues which were solved within the hour also. My only complaint would be the wifi service. We were happy to pay for the wifi for the 2 weeks, but we expected it to actually work. Luckily our 5g was enough for the trip but the wifi would turn on and off and after 7 days it logged us both out, and after buying another 7 days at checkout, it only worked for 4 days before not connecting anymore. So I wouldn’t depend on the wifi even after paying the fee, make sure you have mobile data also. Overall a very good trip and our specific room made it perfect for us. We also got a late checkout this morning until 3pm, but we had to move to another room as our original room had to be emptied for 12pm. No issues though, staff were very accommodating to us. Thanks we would recommend this hotel to everyone!

I just wanted to thank all the staff at the kontiki for my stay there. It was my first time on the island and everyone made me so welcome. The apartments are beautiful, spacious and very well maintained. The cleaning staff are brilliant and friendly. It was a complete joy to stay there, hated leaving. Thank you all again so much.

Just back from a week SC at the Kontiki. Had a welcome drink on arrival and had a 1 bed apt by the pool with a small courtyard at the rear of the apt. The apt had a big living area with kitchen area, a nice bathroom with a large walk in powerful shower and a standard bedroom. The Apt has air con, a safe and wifi, but the safe and wifi does cost extra. The pool area was nice and sun beds were always available, and there was a nice chill out area at the top end with more beds and a view of the beach and sea. There is a bar which opens 8 to 8. The staff were all friendly, and the cleaners came every other day. The hotel is on a short but steep hill everyone was calling cardiac hill , but we did not find it to bad. At the bottom of hill there is lots of bars, shops and restaurants. Overall a nice week away in the sun.

Booked this a few months ago and paid extra for a sea view room down the front of the complex only to be given a room with no sea view . When I asked the hotel staff about a room change they told me a no I could change as the room I was given was a sea view room . Lies there was no sea view from my room so wasted an extra €30 a night here €210 for the week . I explained due to my disability that I booked the front sea view room due to not being able to do a lot of stairs but staff not interested in helping . So don’t pay extra for a sea view as your not getting it I’ve asked twice to be moved . I’ve added a picture of my Lovely sea view room

Just back from a week at the Hotel, the Hotel was immaculate and our room was great inside and had everything we needed, the big problem was where our room 1211 was located we were right in the far corner with no direct access to the rest of the complex we had a lovely balcony which looked over the next door buildings. The difference between our outlook and that of the rooms around the pool was too much and we wouldn’t consider returning unless we were getting a room with a better outlook

Having stayed at the Bahia Kontiki before in a beautiful 2 bedroom apartment facing the sea we returned April 2024 hoping for a similar experience. I have just read a review by Daniel B dated 5 Apr and we must have been given the same totally unsuitable rooms as him. The first, immediately to the left as you enter the complex towards the bottom of cardiac hill was initially a bit disappointing with the patio area facing a wall and low walls between adjacent apartments; we were also concerned about the proximity of the bottle banks and the gate to the complex but thought we’d see how it went. They didn’t disturb us at all - but at 7.30am we awoke startled by the sound of fierce cascading water followed by an almighty clank/thud. The wall of one of the bedrooms shook. This happened about half a dozen times before my husband went out to investigate. There was a storeroom next to the bedroom and at the back of it next to the bedroom wall was a standpipe from which the maid was filling buckets and buckets of water. There was no way we could sleep through that every day. We went to Reception and reported the problem and were offered a change of room. We asked if we could pay for an upgrade but the hotel was full so we were shown to 1109. To get to this room you come out of the hotel and then along a passage at the back of a row of apartments, then there is a narrow opening and around the corner is the room. To be fair we were shown the room & visually inside it seemed fine, patio area again disappointing, facing a wall & low wall to the next apartment but we accepted it and moved. Once inside we noticed the smell - dank and musty. The bathroom door didn’t close but that was quickly fixed after we reported it. As was the toilet when it wouldn’t flush. When we reported the toilet we also told them about the smell (I asked if we could have some air fresheners) and also advised about the shower which went from the temperature you wanted to extremely hot to very cool about every 30 seconds. The shower wasn’t fixed and the smell is probably permanent. Instead of a cleaners’ storeroom this room had a laundry storage room outside and they started banging around with the big laundry cages about 8am! No chance of a lie in on this holiday. Everything else is lovely at this hotel so my advice would be to pay for a better room to ensure you don’t get what we (& Daniel B) did. Don’t know if people booking direct might get better rooms? We were with Jet2. Although we had a fabulous room the first time we stayed here we will never return after this experience.

Just returned from 9 day stay, hotel spotless. The beautiful pool area had sun beds around it, also there is a separate sunbathing area with sea views, we had no problem getting a sun bed, you are asked not to reserve beds if your not using them and in general I would say people took this on board. Our room was down the hill nearer the main beach area and it was spotless and cleaned with fresh towels every two days. Plenty of kitchen items if you wanted to self-cater and all furniture was like new. Some noise from the bottle bank across the road as it was emptied early each day but this did not bother us to much. Very handy location near to the beach, restaurants and bars. Yes the hill up to the main entrance is steep but it’s what I expected and worth it for the views. 100 percent will return.
