Ilunion Costa SAL Lanzarote

Third time visit and it still has that vibe about it , from arrival to departure. Had to wait for our lovely 2 bed appointment with a beautiful sea view. We had bed and breakfast which was buffet style which was fine . Only change was the buffet style food in the evening , where before we had a meal brought to the table and a nice selection of choices . There were 3 original staff left from the last visit , and it was nice to meet up with them . The small shop and its staff were friendly and had most of the things you needed for a self catering apartment. On the whole if you want a clean quiet stay this place is perfect. Cab from the airport was €16 arriving and €13 back . I’ll definitely be back next year for my little bit of winter sunshine

We stayed here for the week of Christmas 2024 and are very sad to be leaving, what a hidden gem! We had a first floor apartment facing the pool (main pool) which got the sun all day. The apartment was spotless and had everythinh we needed for a self catering holiday. We did not eat in the hotel but there was many options available and reception did note of offers on during the week of our stay. The complex was a stones throw from the beach and matagorda commercial centre to the left anf hyperdino and los pocillos to the right. We are already planning our next trip back!

Great hotel,we stayed in room 212 really spacious apartment, huge bed good kitchen area and lounge,outside area quite large with table four chairs and sun loungers.Apartment got sun all day and great views of sea and mountains.Bus stops outside so easy and cheap access to most resorts.Didn't eat at hotel so can't comment on food.All in all great place to stay and we would stay again

We had booked a weeks half board stay at the Ilunion Hotel. We arrived late on Monday evening. The reception was lovely and explained everything to us for our weeks stay. She even gave us extra bottles of water as it was hot and also informed us there was a “Spanish” style ploughman’s in our fridge as the restaurant had closed. This set the tone for the whole week with the amazing customer service. Our children’s beds were on the hard side and they supplied mattresses toppers which sorted then, they even offered to change the mattresses. Now the food. We were half board so had breakfast and dinner. Breakfast was great with a full selection of hot and cold food, cereals and cold meats. The evening meals were amazing. Ignore the bad reviews. I think these people were either blind or only wanted chicken nuggets every evening. Each evening had a theme and it was great with hot and cold, salad, fresh bread and lovely puddings. Overall a lovely week. The only thing if I had to say was a negative, was the on-site shop was only basic and shut on a Sunday. There is a SPAR and Hyperdino only 10 minute walk.

I have just returned from a month in the Ilunion Costa Sal Hotel. I first went here 30 years ago and have returned many times. For the last 5 years we have spent a month's holiday here in winter and have always been more than happy with everything. This Feb. we rented a luxury villa and were so disappointed. The property was run down, kitchen press doors didn't close properly, the fan in the bathroom blew the fuses and the fan was never replaced, the toaster blew the fuses but this was promptly replaced, the bottom tray in the dish washer didn't fit the machine, the washing machine was leaking. The jacuzzi didn't work for the first 2 weeks then it was mended it didn't have a cover either. When we checked in we were told we could only have one key or else they would have to change the locks, this had to be done the next week as there were 3 of us. We ate in the restaurant on 2 occasions the food was very poor not 4 star quality by any means. It is such a shame as this was a lovely friendly hotel before Ilunion took over. The swimming pool and grounds are beautiful and very well kept. The spa is wonderful and Christina is a gem.

On arrival we were welcomed by the wonderful lady on reception called (Rosie/rosa) she was so welcoming and friendly and explained everything we needed to know ! She treated us like friends and it was so lovely to have a friendly welcome to start our holiday, Apartment was massive we had a 1 bedroom and my son had a bed in the living area he’s a tall teenager but the bed was more than big enough for him very comfortable too ! The beds in the bedroom were very big and comfortable and the apartment was stocked with everything that you could need to enjoy your self catering stay! The housekeeping was brilliant although they do come at random times 3.30/4.30 once we asked them to come on a morning though they did which was perfect. Bar onsite was very expensive and so was the restaurant the hotel wanted €16 pp for breakfast! Wow walk down to the Commercial centre and breakfast is €5 . I was hearing from many returning customers that since the chain has took over things like the bar and restaurants have changed and not for the better which is a shame , also the supermarket on site could be so much better for the self catering clients it’s a big place but half the shelves are empty! Loved the fresh baguettes and croissants on a morning tho! Could do with a revamp and stocking up of everything so you don’t have to carry things up from the centre . The hotel is on a steep hill and there is lots of steps so if there is mobility issues I would look into the accessibility if we decided to go back we would ask to stay down by the bottom pool as it’s nearer the commercial centre and beach . If your an early riser you cannot lay out on the sunbeds until 9.30 as they don’t open the pool area you can’t get in the pool till 10.30 till the lifeguard arrives , they say no reservations on the sunbeds but people do this and put towels down at 9.30 and don’t come back till after lunch ! Towels are not removed as stated ! The day time entertainment could do with looking at as I know there was a mini club but activities for teenagers and adults to do in the day would have been great! Overall this hotel was clean friendly staff were helpful we would possibly consider returning as we did enjoy our stay.
