Ukino Palmeiras Village - 24h All Inclusive

Absolutely spotless. I’m coming from a hotel background. Have been working in Hospitality industry for over 15 years and we have traveled quite a fair bit. Came here for 10 nights with my family (2 small kids) and I’m yet to find something negative to say. The only negative part is that we are leaving tomorrow! Something that’s going to stay in my mind about this place is the perfect upkeep of the property and cleanliness! Thank you! PS: we have been to Be Live Collection in Dominican Republic. It was nice, but this resort is better overall. Congrats to the General Manager of the property and the staff!

Everyone was so friendly! The hotel was very clean, laundry was washed and dried the same day (for a reasonable fee). The buffet was great quality and the restaurant was constantly cleaned ready for new diners. Juan is the best for activities, I highly recommend you seek him out for a laugh and great fun! Snack bar is great, drinks are great quality not watered down at all. The beach is amazing but an uphill walk back so not ideal for people with respiratory difficulties. Would highly recommend getting an Uber to the old town and taking a boat trip to see the dolphins and caves! I will definitely be returning, hopefully next summer! 10/10 from me!

Good points: Upon arrival the reception staff were very friendly and explained the whole process The room was lovely, clean & plenty of room for 4 of us (2 adults 2 kids) The food was always something different every night and they have a kids area which was useful. The snack bar was a particular favourite for our family with hotdogs, burgers & chips (which always go down well). There is a bar open somewhere from 10.30am to midnight. If you stay over 7 nights you get à la carte dinner included, this was a highlight of our stay and we absolutely loved it! From the food to the service 5* treatment! Bad points: If your not French you don't fit in, entertainment is on from 8pm for French. English kids have to wait til 9pm which was way to late for us. Entertainment in the day was French orientated. English are never asked to join. The food is luke warm at best. I had to microwave my omelette every morning (thank god for the microwave) We had to spend a lot of time in the lobby bar due to bad weather, however the line for drinks was always out the door as they only seemed to have one member of staff on (I found the staff in the lobby bar to be very rude) they clearly don't want to be here. Or are they are understaffed? Which leads them to treat people poorly The TV kept freezing also, my husband is a big football fan so if you are planning to watch football here i wouldn't reccomend it, when you ask about the TV you just get a shrug and they can't do anything. Overall it wasn't the worst holiday and we enjoyed it mainly. The kids loved the pool! The slides were fun & the arcade was good fun! However, we won't be coming back here. Mainly for the way we were treated in the lobby bar (a tall man with no hair & a beard especially) & the warmth of the food.

Our review: I'm a nutshell - a clean disjointed hotel in the middle of nowhere but next to a nice beach which isn't easily accessible with a pushchair! . If you have pushchairs or wheelchairs - good luck, you're taking the long route just to get to a pool. Be prepared to carry your pushchairs down some stairs on a daily basis. Not child friendly in this regard. No ice lollys etc for kids anywhere unless you leave the hotel to buy one. Entertainment is not entertaining for the British, and needs bringing up to date! Pools are a nice size but on the colder side if anything. Food is acceptable and freshly cooked but the themes are barely noticeable. Don't dare take your eyes off your plate as the waiters would take it before you've even buttered your bread! Overly eager but hard working staff. Drinks were tight as you're only allowed 2 alcoholic drinks per person - I ordered some, no queue behind, still wouldn't give me more, so I put them on a table next to the bar... They then served me more! Stupid rule especially as we were a group of four adults! Cocktails did seem strong though. Wouldn't recommend this hotel as other all inclusive have been much better for us. If something says it opens at 10am it might be 10am or it could be 11am - who knows!?. Location - location is average 1.5hr+ coach transfer from faro airport - close ish to the beach but far away from anything else worth visiting! However an on the road train stops outside and costs €4 per adult for a round trip where you can hop on and off. Our kids were free on this (3 & 1 Yr old). Getting to the beach was a nightmare with pushchairs. Hotel - very clean. Rooms a good size but we had a family room and a double room which were the same size but a sofa bed in the family room reduced the usable space. Limited sea view was an understatement - we were looking at wasteland with the sea just about visible on the horizon. Disjointed in practically everything. - entertainment until 9.30pm for kids on level four of main hotel but down/ up some steps then more entertainment in the not so easy to find theatre near the furthest away pool from 10-11 ish. Other nationalities seemed to be rude too and it's clear this is not a hotel that is focused on the British. Groups of football academy children ruined our stay knocking on our door late at night and running off, Playing football in reception area, not bothering with utensils at dinner, taking over any space they decided to occupy, pushing in for things etc. Had we have known these groups were there we would not have booked this hotel. Pools - Four in total, all a little cold at first. Nightmare to get to with a pushchair. If not for steps, narrow walkways where you have to wait for others to walk through first. Furthest away kids pool has a nice selection of slides and fountains for the little ones. Adult pool next to it also has three mediocre fun slides for older kids. This is our families go to hotel/place in Portugal, we wouldn’t book anywhere else! Fantastic amenities, great choice for all inclusive and a 5 minute walk from a beautiful beach. Staff are very polite and friendly. Would highly recommend this hotel.

The hotel is absolutely beautiful, the food was excellent, always fresh superb quality. A little bit repetitive at times but plenty of choice and most of it is cooked in front of you. The hotel was spotless. The pools are amazing. Great cocktail menu.

Hotel is clean and the staff work very hard to keep it that way. We arrived for a weeks holiday on Tuesday and all was ok until Saturday when the hotel was taken over by youth football teams from around the world. We have never seen such bad behaviour especially in the restaurants where so much food was wasted by these youths. Clearing the buffet counters quicker than the staff could fill them and then wasting it. These youths were left to run around the restaurant while the staff with them sat on table drinking beer and wine. Food was ok but nothing special. Room we had was clean and well maintained. Plenty of sun loungers around the grounds but not that comfortable after a short while. Drinks are served in small plastic cups. We enjoyed our week but feel let down by the hotel allowing so many football teams to stay at the same time. We will not be returning but that is not the hotels fault.

Terrible experience! It is advertised as a family resort but they have very loud music parties until 11pm at night. The party is hold just below all the rooms at the pool, when they have a second pool further away from the rooms and also a theatre. Very bad management! Made constant complaints to reception but the music only stopped when they finished their show.

Hotel itself is very clean and the rooms are a good size. Not much out round the hotel but there is a little train the goes past the hotel hourly which will take u down into the main ***** where there is bars, restaurants and shops. Food is alright and they do themed nights but it’s all much the same with a small selection for kids. Staff are friendly & work hard. The entertainment at night could be improved as it’s not great. The only thing that spoiled things for us was there was quite a few young football teams staying at the hotel who run wild in the restaurants as their mentors sit talking among themselves eating and drinking. Also the kids were kicking footballs in the lobby while reception staff did nothing. Not really what you want when you’ve paid so much to go on holiday to relax!
