Rock Beach is nearby on a walk of 8 mins, other cafes and places as well are nearby. You'll see lot of auto rickshaws nearby if you want to go somewhere. Sharing more details: 1. Try visiting French town on foot or scooty 2. Auto mostly charge 150-300 (one way) for a radius of 9-10 km, we visited paradise beach and Eden beach via auto "

"Booked AC room through online check in date 28 and check out on 30 Dec 24 and landed there on 28th night 10 PM by taxi. To my surprise they didn't notice my online booking and the manager said sorry for their mistake and provided a non AC room with a stinky bed, curtains and smelly room. He promised to return the difference amount on AC to Non AC room tariff while checking out. Considering my family situation there having no access to travel again to the city i accepted and stayed there. This residence is in a remote place outside the city, you will not have access to food delivery and there is no possibility to book online taxis and no auto or car stand nearby. While checking out the manager ignored meeting us and met the owner and explained the situation and he committed to return the difference amount through GPAY and no response. This hotel has a nasty bar on the ground floor and an AC bar on the first floor. It is not good for the family. Even if anyone is booking, please call them and confirm about your booking. Such poor management, they will not see online booking properly."

"We had a great time at La Villa and were so well looked after by the friendly and professional staff. Particular thanks go to Raji and Anil who went out of their way to make arrangements for us and check in on our stay. Props also to Divya, Sonali and Kit who were constantly friendly faces. The architecture and environment of the hotel are delightful. The garden restaurant is a an oasis within the busy surrounding streets and the villa itself is very pretty and beautifully restored. We stayed on the roof in 'Bridge To Heaven' - one of the most impressive hotel rooms we have ever experienced. A timber and glass box built on top of the villa gives you floor-to-ceiling light coming in from all four sides, making it super airy and very spacious. The flip side of this is that you are very connected to the outside world, for better or worse - vocal birds, the beeping of traffic, the crash of thunder and heavy rain - but that's Pondicherry! It was still a very relaxing place to be - perfectly clean and with a great minibar refreshed every day with lots of water, some beer and some not bad Indian wine. We enjoyed cooling off in the modestly-sized but very private pool, which is open 8am until midnight so you can cool off midday or go for a late night dip. The restaurant has a very ambitious French colonial menu with lots of vertical foods and foam - pretty delicious! As Brits we were quite overheated most of the time though and the rich French food here and in many of the restaurants in White Town was a bit too much for us - however the staff at La Villa were ready with lots of fantastic recommendations for South Indian cuisine so it was easy to eat well whether staying at the hotel or venturing out. We would highly recommend La Villa for anyone looking for a modern French colonial sanctuary in bustling Pondicherry."

"Absolutely pathetic behaviour from the staff and management. The bald manager guy and the curly-haired waiter were unbelievably rude and disrespectful every single time we visited. They clearly judge people based on appearance and treat customers according to who “looks rich” enough for them. We were university students, and whenever we went there, it felt like they wanted to throw us out of the place. Meanwhile, we literally watched them treat other customers politely just because they were better dressed or looked wealthier. One of the most insulting moments was when we had just entered the premises and the bald manager instantly said, “Today no beer available,” without us even asking anything. As if our only purpose there was to drink. The arrogance and stereotyping were disgusting. And even if we were there to drink — so what? We are paying customers, not beggars asking for free service. Hospitality industry people acting classist and disrespectful towards customers is honestly embarrassing. If you cannot treat every customer with basic dignity and respect, you should not be working in hospitality at all. Worst service, worst attitude, and one of the most unwelcoming places we’ve ever visited."
