Location nice in old town. Super friendly, they arranged a pickup for us from the station. In the evening nicely illuminated with latern and a small terrace to sit. The (served) breakfast was very tasty.

Good place near the North gate. Friendy staff. Good breakfast and peaceful room. Hot water (shower) was a bit weak. Amazing city.

They were very kind, took me from the train station and even offered me a bottle of vinegar. The breakfast was authentic and the room confortable.

My stay at the Red Lantern Inn in Pingyao was absolutely unforgettable! From the moment I arrived, the owner was incredibly friendly and provided full-service hospitality. I was even greeted with a thoughtful gift of vinegar upon check-in. The hotel is unique and charming, not your typical modern hotel. The reception is located in a shop at the front, but the hotel's name is clearly displayed, making it easy to find. The directions on Trip.com were accurate, and although it’s a bit of a walk from the North Gate, it’s worth it. The atmosphere of the inn is enchanting, transporting you to old-world China. The rooms are simply designed yet very comfortable. The hotel also offers traditional costume rentals for photos, which was a fun experience. What truly stood out was the exceptional service. The owner helped us arrange a bus for sightseeing and even provided a free ride to the Pingyaogucheng Railway Station, despite it being quite far. The car was spacious and comfortable. To top it all off, I experienced my first snowfall here, making my stay even more magical. I highly recommend the Red Lantern Inn to anyone visiting Pingyao. It’s a place that offers not just a stay, but an unforgettable cultural experience!

We are impressive for service and welcome drink. The location is good where located in the heart of ancient city. The room is clean, comfortable but the bed is a little hard. If i have chance to come back, I will choose this hotel. Recommend to you!!!

It was an amazing experience to have stayed in an ancient city, it transported us back to ancient China. The hotel has a lovely courtyard and roof top viewing area where you can watch the sunset. Breakfast was simple, just porridge, vegetables, egg and plain buns. It would have been nice if coffee or a hot drink was provided. The lady at the reception was very helpful and the free pick up service from the high speed railway station was great.

A perfect place to stay! The inn was really beautiful, ideally situated quite close to the north entrance and the old city attractions. The breakfast was simple and good, the welcome gift was really appreciated ! We got a free room upgrade and the room was definitely perfect, all traditional with a kang and still really modern amenities ! Definitely recommended !

One of my best stay in China. The Inn is inside the Old Town, has a lot of character and looks very charming. It's also just a little bit away from the main tourist road, which means it's quiet and relaxing. They offer pick up and luggage delivery, which is a plus. The room was very warm, comfortable, with very good shower products too, so it's a great stay during cold days. Very welcoming and helpful staff. Thanks for a lovely stay.

It was a great guesthouse, I had a cozy room with floor heating, a small delicious breakfast. The pickup from the trainstation was free, for the return trip you had to pay. The atmosphere is really good and the courtyard with the lanterns is pretty. Friendly owners. Highly recommend:)

Room very authentical and traditional. Placed in a charming pingyao style courtyard. Very well positioned and our room was very well warm air conditionned BUT there was not cleaning service and they never asked us to reset up our room. We spent there 3 nights and they never came to set up the room and clean the bathroom baskets. Breakfast was included in our stay with a set menu which has been always the same every morning with just some vegetables, a poor porridge (sometimes cold) with an egg each. No coffee. In our stay a gift was included (a local vinegar) BUT we never received it.
