"I came to Pingdu for a friend's engagement party. Overall, it was okay. I didn't take any photos, so you can just bear with me. There are a few things that could be improved. 1. The bathroom lighting was too dim, with only two small lamps providing support. 2. The air conditioner was a bit old. 3. There was a step leading into the bathroom that was incredibly easy to trip over. 4. The room could really use some disposable paper cups. 5. There were no rubber slippers. 6. There were no toilet paper in the room!!! I asked the front desk, and they said they didn't have any. 7. The laundry was not collected promptly after the previous guest's laundry, which was really annoying. 8. They could use disposable iodine-based towels instead of towels and bath towels."

"The receptionist was rude. I requested a room with a north-facing window, but she told me she'd give me one with a south-facing window. I specifically asked her not to have a room near the end of the corridor or the elevator, yet she deliberately gave me a room facing the elevator entrance. After I went upstairs, she called to ask me to come back downstairs to change rooms. I had already said I didn't want a room facing the elevator or the end of the corridor when I checked in, so why did she give me one facing the elevator? She wouldn't admit it, saying, "Did you tell me that?" After changing rooms, the smell of cigarettes was overwhelming, the blankets were damp, and I felt uncomfortable all over. The soundproofing was poor; I could hear people talking in the next room. It was close to the road, so traffic was noisy. The bath towels were old and worn, and the bathroom had a strong, unpleasant odor. This is the first time I've given a hotel a bad review on Ctrip in years, and also the first time I've written such a long and detailed review."

"Check in and check out was easy. Staff were helpful and found ways around the language barrier. I was in town for the half marathon so only had a light breakfast but there was plenty to eat. There was a slight smell of stale cigarette but it was not so much that it impacted on the stay. The room met my needs and was very comfortable. There is a great park to walk or run around very close. A taxi is necessary to get to town or find a wider range of food options. I ate at the mirage which was a hot pot restaurant and this was a pleasant experience."
