The White Swan Inn

A good comfortable stay at a warm ,friendly hotel, complete with open log fire. We enjoyed a tasty dinner and very good ,varied breakfasts. The White Swan is well located for exploring lovely Pickering and the beautiful surrounding area. Excellent private parking.

Stayed at the White Swan for three nights for my wife's birthday in a vintage room overlooking the main street. Room warm spacious and comfy with super king bed which was very comfy with excellent pillows and duvet. Hot drinks and biscuits supplied with mini fridge and complimentary waters. Decent shower and bath with plenty of hot water and supplied toiletries. Room was serviced everyday if required. All staff were warm and friendly and happy to help at all times. Breakfast was excellent with great assortment of cold offerings (the home made flapjack was delicious) and excellent locally sourced produce for the hot offerings including the best home made black pudding I have ever tasted. Evening meals were very good if a little expensive. Comfy seating was limited in the bar room which had a homely feel. The only down point for me was the sitting room on the left as you enter the front of the property. It had a roaring fire but seemed dark and dingy with poor lighting and little uninviting. We arrived on a sunny afternoon but we're a little disappointed with the frontage of the building which looked like it needed a makeover. Overall we enjoyed our stay and would likely return in the future.

Great hotel in town centre with plenty of parking. The hotel was lovely and clean and warm with fires lit and friendly staff. The bath in our room was big and there was plenty of hot water and room was lovely and comfortable. Tip if wanting to go on the Pickering steam train please check time table as it doesn't run in November.

A nice Inn with a lovely dining room on the Main Street in Pickering. Friendly staff and thoughtful with the little ones. Excellent starters especially the trout and crab. The children’s meals were brought with the starters which was good. The 2 children’s steak and chips were great. All the mains were great - the sea bream perfect and the 3 rump of lamb very moist and tasty. The only disappointment were the fondant potatoes. The lemon tart and rhubarb was excellent and the pavlova also very good. Overall a lovely evening.

We had a 2 night stay and the hotel was excellent. Warm, clean and comfortable with a superb breakfast. The staff were helpful and friendly and the malt whiskey in front of the log fire in the lounge prior to bed was totally relaxing. We will return, thank you

The hotel was very clean and tidy staff very friendly and helpful we went with our 5 month old labourer it was nice to have proper bins to put the poo in plus they put fresh milk and water in your fridge every day and leave you dressing gowns and slippers it’s all the little extras that are nice, we will definitely come and stay again.
