My stay at Banraya Resort was absolutely perfect! The hotel boasts breathtaking ocean views, and the pristine beach feels almost private. Watching the sunrise over the Andaman Sea from the cliffs at dawn was truly unforgettable. The rooms are well-equipped with strong AC and great water pressure in the showers—perfect for washing away the fatigue of travel. The breakfast buffet offers a wide variety of delicious options, especially the authentic Thai dishes, which were a real highlight. The resort’s snorkeling and fishing excursions were top-notch, with skilled and experienced captains and instructors making every activity safe and fun. Best of all, Racha Island remains a hidden paradise—no crowds, just swaying palm trees, crystal-clear waters, and pure relaxation. This is what a true getaway should feel like!

The place is beautiful and nature oriented. Probably not the right place for night party-goers, but rather for those who like to be near nature, like to scuba-dive and snorkel. The fishes were amazing! and immediately, one meter away from the beach. Food was nothing to talk home about, according to my taste, but there are other restaurants at walking distance. The whole island is walking distance, which is nice! It's nice that the hotel picks you up from the closest Phuket beach (Chalong pier) and brings you back - included, free of charge.

We chose this resort to celebrate New Year, and it was the worst decision ever. We were confused with the reviews as they were radically opposite, but we decided to give it a try (now we deeply regret that). The transportation to and from the hotel is terrible. We arrived at 9am to the pickup point and had to wait for 1 hour in the tiny room first, then carried all our luggage for around 1km to the boat (same on the way back, be ready for that). We arrived to another side of the island and had to take some odd vehicle to reach the resort. I saw someone recently mentioned that they fell off that thing, and it’s no surprise to me because it’s absolutely dangerous and inconvenient. And yes, you arrive at 11 and then you have to wait for 3 hours to check in. Breakfast was scarce, the choice is very limited, even fruits aren’t refilled on time. The path from the resort to the beach is a disaster, dusty and bumpy, full of metal rebars also. There are construction works around as well. The AC didn’t work properly and even after having it fixed, it was loud and chunks of ice were falling out. The water tank in the toilet didn’t work even after we asked to fix it 3 times! We also informed them in advance that we’d like our room to be cleaned and the towels changed, and guess what? Of course they didn’t do it. I complained about that and asked them to do it when we were out for the “sunset” thing (which is also NOT what you might expect - just check YouTube / Instagram etc. to see where the sunset point on Racha island actually is and where the other two hotels take their guests for enjoying the sunset. Spoiler: it’s not the same beach where you arrive and where this resort actually takes you). Here’s the surprise: they didn’t wait until we left to come and do their job, they came when I was taking a shower and my boyfriend was out to buy something. I came out of the shower almost naked to see 3 random people in my room! Absolutely absurd. I shall also say that their massage isn’t worth a penny. I love spa and massage, and I can say that their service was just horrible, not to mention it was only 40 minutes and not 1 hour as they say. Oh yeah, someone mentioned it already but I’d like to confirm that most of their staff (even at the reception desk) don’t speak English, but instead they have a Chinese guide for Chinese tourists that translate everything for them in great detail. Nothing is translated for other guests and you just follow the others without knowing what is actually going on. The only good thing there is the beauty of nature which has nothing to do with the resort itself. Now I realise that most people who share positive feedback don’t give high points for the resort and their service but the nature only, which isn’t reasonable. We do NOT recommend this place, choose Racha island resort instead (we went there for New Year Eve as nothing was held in Ban Raya, and we enjoyed the food and the friendly atmosphere) and come around once for snorkelling. That’s more than enough if you don’t want your vacations to be ruined with poor service and old facilities.

Regarding transportation, we will immediately communicate with the cooperating pick-up party to optimize the process to ensure that guests can arrive on time and comfortably. For long check-in waiting time, we will also adjust the check-in arrangements to try to get guests in as soon as possible. 2. In terms of catering, we have communicated with the catering department and will increase the variety of breakfast and replenish fruits in time so that every guest can enjoy our services. 3. Regarding the facility problem, we have been doing a comprehensive overhaul of the air conditioners, toilets and other facilities and equipment in all rooms in 2025 to check for hidden dangers in the facilities. However, due to the high occupancy rate in recent times, our overhaul progress has been affected, but we will strive to complete various overhauls this month. 4. The room cleaning and service arrangements will reorganize the process to ensure respect for guest privacy. Massage services will also strengthen training to ensure duration and quality. Regarding language communication issues, we will increase the intensity of English training for employees and provide better communication assistance for guests of different languages. We know that natural beauty is the foundation, but service and facilities are equally important. We apologize to you again and hope that you can give us a chance to improve. If you have travel plans in the future, we hope to give us a chance to make up for this regret.

I did love this beautiful place. It was quite easy to book a transfer to the island and back. The room was clean and specious. My partner and I enjoyed snorkeling. I wish I can visit this place again.

The resort has one big open hall where you with an restaurant and lobby. The food is ok, but pricy for Thailand. The bungalows are simple but clean and big enough. The property is big and has a spa, swimming pool and a stony beach. Not a sandy beach. But there is a house reef and a PADI Dive Center is also on the property as is a convenient shop with a rather small sortiment. The only downside is that the checkin and checkout is not that well organised and the staff is rather rude.

Island is beutiful and location is nice. Service was not. Did not understand , or pretended not to. Did not feel welcome at all. Not in hotel nor restaurant. ( few ladys in the kitchen were very nice) Think it was becouse i was traveling alone and didn’t bring as much money. Room is nice but at that price it should have fridgerator in it. Especially when restaurant closes so early. You could have atleast something to eat in your room.Did try to upgrade but they said no. They didn’t have proper toilet paper. Very thin napkins that were not very nice or good as toilet paper.

Regarding facilities, we officially took over the resort in July 2023 and changed its name to Racha Island Pool Beach Resort and Spa Diving Center (Banraya). We attach great importance to your feedback. Currently, Raya has added a small refrigerator; the restaurant's business hours have been extended to 9 pm and open for ordering and delivery services. If you need it, we will also provide services for you; the bar will be open after the restaurant closes It will continue to be open until 22:00 to 23:00. The convenience store (supermarket) is open every day and displays a full range of products. The suppliers of consumables such as paper towels and toothbrushes used in the hotel have been changed. After the change, we set up a special team to collect guests' suggestions. The feedback so far has been positive. We are very sorry for the bad experience we brought you. Regarding service, we have re-evaluated the service awareness, service attitude and reception process of the in-store service staff, and dismissed employees who did not meet the standards. The remaining employees have been trained in various aspects such as language and service awareness, and have been re-evaluated. If the standards are met, we will reopen to customers. Since language communication is not a short-term way to improve skills, we have specially set up a Chinese butler customer service to help you answer questions and plan your itinerary remotely. Thank you for your tolerance of Ban Raya, and I hope you can come to Ban Raya again to review our progress!
