We recently stayed a few nights in the Charlie PP hotel that we booked through yourselves.
I wanted to send you this email to provide you with information about their ‘standard’ room, which was completely below standard for any hotel, let alone a 3 star and I wish to raise this to you so that people have a better view of what they are booking.
I will attach some pictures of the room to this email, the cleanliness was a disgrace. I’m not one to usually ask for a room clean every day when I am in a hotel for a few days as I believe it’s a waste of time for the cleaners, however I didn’t feel as though this room could be cleaned enough.
Aside from the cleanliness, the room was infested with mosquitos. I raised this to the hotel reception staff after the first night, as both me and my partner were covered in bites and more and more mosquitos were coming into our room constantly. I was told that there was nothing they could do as they were fully booked and all other standard rooms ‘have the same problem’, we asked to pay for an upgrade as well which we were also told was not possible.
I understand this is no fault of the hotels if they are fully booked, however I asked that the least they could do is give the room a good clean because it’s so dirty and see if they can spray something for the mosquitos, which I was told was no problem and it will get a good clean. Later that day, to my surprise, apart from a made up bed there had been no cleaning in the room whatsoever. The same cobwebs, dust and grime were still in the room.
I then asked the next day to upgrade again, because at this point it was becoming unbearable and we were spending as little time in the room as possible because of it’s state. They still said there was no availability and again would get the room cleaned, but as you can imagine this didn’t happen the whole holiday.
We went to Thailand for a total of 2 weeks and we stayed in some amazing hotels, a lot cheaper than this one. So was extremely shocked by the standard of the room having paid what is quite a lot for a Thailand hotel. Also to mention, the beds were extremely uncomfortable, even our friends who stayed in the ‘superior’ rooms said how hard and uncomfortable they were.
I’m extremely disappointed with the fact this had clouded our stay on such a beautiful island, whilst I understand there is only so much people can do especially if the place is fully booked, nothing was done to help us with the concerns we had raised at all even though it was clear we were distressed about the situation we were in. The staff in general were fine, however this really effected us daily being somewhere so dirty, I am writing to you not only to see how we can be compensated for this, but to ensure you are aware of what it is you are selling to people unbeknown to them.
I’m not usually one to complain, so don’t like having to do this. However, I felt this has to be raised as it’s completely unacceptable.
