Had a great time. Apartment was very big and modern and clean. Glad hired a car as it’s essential with no shops or restaurants (other than golf clubhouse) within miles. Had a mezzanine but these are all level 1 so next time I will go for a ground floor double option as I prefer ground floor. Site is very big and quite spread out and really quiet. Pools really good. We would come again.

Das Apartment war sehr gross und gut ausgestattet. Die Entfernung zur Rezeption und Restaurant. Es gift aber Shuttle Service. Das Restaurant ist nights besonderes, aber auf der Terasse sitzt man sehr schön.

A limpeza deixa muito a desejar. O check in estava marcado para as 16h, no entanto só tinham o apartamento disponível às 19h. Situação que vi repetir-se com outros hóspedes. A limpeza da piscina é fraca, as cadeiras da piscina têm muito mau aspecto, precisam de reforma. O restaurante do hotel é péssimo, a comida é cara e a qualidade é fraca. A limpeza da casa de banho das piscinas é muito fraca.

I booked a 5 night, 5 rounds of golf for my partner and myself at Amendoiera Golf Resort and I have to say that it was a fantastic holiday from start to finish. It was not too busy in early April, however height of season may be different. We hired our clubs through Golf Clubs to Hire and picked them up at Faro airport on arrival. We were then collected by the Golf Holidays Direct rep and transported to Amendoiera in a private cab. The resort kept our cases in a secure room so that we could play golf that afternoon. Service at reception was first class as was our apartment which had everything we could need for our stay. There was a shuttle bus to transport us from the apartment to the Clubhouse which only required a phonecall, and the drivers were friendly and helpful. The food in the Clubhouse was very good and not overpriced, and the buffet breakfast each morning was excellent, with everything you could wish for. The two golf courses on site were great challenges, and they have replaced all their old buggies with new ones which had GPS to assist around the courses. On our leaving day we were picked up on time and transported back to the airport by private car, handed clubs back at airport and flight home to Edinburgh left on time. All in all we could not find one thing to complain about with our holiday through Golf Holidays Direct - Amendoirea is a perfect resort for a golf holiday.

The resort is lovely we stayed at the orange apartments which had a lovley veiw of the o Connor golf course and in the afternoon had the sun on the terrace. My only fault was the shuttle bus as we where the other end of the main hotel and had to wait around 15 to 20mins due to only having 1 member of staff trying to do it all Luiz was a very friendly driver always trying to do his best but as this was a golf resort with alot of group guest he couldn't do it all if there was a either stand by driver available or another driver it would of been better, also my other complaint is that no one came in to change our bath towels or clean the floor for what I paid I would of at least expected fresh towels and bedding If I go back I would hire a car to have a bit of freedom to go when I want as the shuttle did let the golf break down As for the course beautiful nick faldo was little bit tricky but veiws and condition of the course was excellent

Some things about our trip were great, some not so great. The good stuff The golf courses. The weekday evenings driver of the shuttle. The breakfast buffet. The apartment; spacious, enough wardrobe space, decent shower and water pressure, proper black out blinds, The not such good stuff. €6 for a token for 50 balls at the range. Said token then only gave 34 balls. After mentioning this at reception, the next day we got 44 balls with a token. The following day, one token gave us only 26 balls. €30 for a taxi to take us to Aldi and back. Apparently it’s an agreement that the taxi firms all have with the resort. Use Uber instead. Some Toilets at the pool and also at the range have no locks on the doors. Weird. The music being played in the restaurant during breakfast was similar to what would be played at the start of a funeral. Just awful! So depressing. Beware umbrellas by pool. They aren’t all properly secured in the base. One flew off in the wind and narrowly missed a sunbather.

We didn’t stay at the resort so this review is for the golf club only. I have visited Amendoeira several times and always have an enjoyable round of golf on the Faldo course. This was the first visit for my sons, and one that they were looking forward to. The golf was great but the service in the clubhouse this time left a lot to be desired. One member of staff in particular rudely insisted we hadn’t ordered food (we had), and then walked away saying “Well you haven’t paid”. The same member of staff also appeared at our table when we were half-way through our drinks and handed us a bill that we hadn’t requested. We had been planning on ordering another drink but it was clear this person was only focussed on getting our money, so we left feeling very unwelcome and unvalued as guests. Unfortunately this one person succeeded in ruining my sons’ overall impression of the golf resort and has made me seriously consider whether I will return.

Having not long returned from your resort after our 7th visit in 8 years I would like to give some feedback on our most recent experience. Overall, we have no complaints about any of the facilities, both the accommodation and the golf courses were exceptional however the service was the real letdown and left our group of 12 frustrated to say the least. It started with check in where we were delighted to learn that our 3 apartments were ready early and available to access, this had been the case on some previous trips and always makes a great start to the holiday, you can imagine our surprise to be told that in order to access our accommodation early we would need to pay 10 euros per apartment per hour resulting in an invoice of 120 euros. I expressed my surprise at this as we had never experienced such a charge either at Amendoria or any other accommodation for that matter. The manager seemed to agree that it was excessive and suggested it was a change in management that had introduced the charge, after some conversations back and forth we reluctantly agreed to pay 60 euros to access our already paid for accommodation. We then enquired about booking our tee time for our departure day, I did query this via e-mail before our trip but still waiting on an answer to that! You can imagine our frustration to learn that the only available tee time was just 3 hours before our airport transfer pick up time, over the course of our stay we eventually managed to get earlier tee times spread over the 2 courses, not ideal and was a real slog to get it done, to make matters worse we then experienced a 5 and half hour round on the Faldo course, a first for all of us and not something we would like to repeat. Other points to note, it’s now 6.50 euro for bucket of range balls, these used to be included in the package price, we also noted that it now appears they only have one driver and shuttle bus to accommodate the apartments, this resulted in long waits around reception or having to walk back to the accommodation. On the final night of our stay we decided to book the 30 euro per heard BBQ option for dinner, it seemed that this was the only food option that night, quite simply it was a real disappointment patricianly at that price point, some of the meat options were tough to say the least, we did highlight this to manager and the solution was to and get more… We love Amendoria and may be back one day but as a group we have decided to book elsewhere for next year’s trip, really hope they get the service levels to match the facilities.

On arrival the hotel appeared very nice and clean. The check in was straight forward but be warned the reception isn’t 24 hours and will close at midnight. We arrived minutes before it closed, I’m not sure what happens if you are delayed and arrive after midnight? The apartment we stayed in was a good size with two balconies. It was clean and had all the usual amenities including bath and swimming towels. We quickly experienced one of the biggest problems with the golf resort - the shuttle bus. It’s very difficult to walk round the resort due to the size of the place (plus the heat and carrying golf bags make it less appealing to attempt to walk it). The problem with the shuttle bus is there is only one driver for the entire resort. Usually if you’re lucky he will be with you in 10-15 minutes, if you’re unlucky you could be waiting 20-30 minutes. We asked why there is only 1 driver at reception, the receptionist said they are asked this all the time but management do not seem to want to employ another driver. We played 9 holes on the first day on the Faldo that took around 2hrs 30min. The Faldo was in good condition, it plays difficult for mid/higher handicappers but for those in single digits it is a tough but good course. The following day we played O’Connor Jnr course, our tee time was 11:30am and managed to get round 18 in 4hrs 20min. The O’Connor course played a lot easier and in the same kind of condition as the Faldo. The next day we were due to play a full 18 on the Faldo. Our tee time was midday and went off without issue. By the 3rd hole there was 3 groups on the tee box. By the 7th hole we were 2hours 30 in and lost all enthusiasm for playing. The biggest issue was the fact there was no course marshall present to at least try speed up play. We finally gave up after 9 holes and come in just after 3:15pm. A couple players from our group continued and eventually got round 18 holes in 6 hours 30min as a two ball. Another negative was the lack of opportunities to buy drinks and food when on the course. The halfway house on the courses were shut and there was only 1 food / drinks buggy going round the course. Once we finished the round of golf we decided to head to the swimming pool. Unfortunately the pool bar was shut and never opened throughout the stay. We got told by reception the pool bar will open in July?!?! I would say overall the service is very mixed from the staff at the resort. In one instance I managed to lose my sunglasses after our buggy was taken from outside reception after we had taken our golf bags off. I went down to where the buggies are washed and the sunglasses were nowhere to be seen on our buggy. The guy who I spoke to went above and beyond to track down the glasses. The outcome was another staff member found them and still had them on him after his shift had finished!

Party of four golfers. We stayed for 4 nights and played 3 rounds of golf, 2 on the O’Connor and 1 on the Faldo. We had early morning tee times and didn’t experience any real delays on the course. Went round in under 4.5 hours which is more than acceptable for a resort course. The O’Connor is fantastic to play, a real test but fair. The Faldo is also enjoyable but extremely long and difficult, an experience not to be missed. Accommodation was modern, clean and well laid out and suited us perfectly. Food at the clubhouse was excellent and reasonably priced. All in all I wouldn’t hesitate to come back here and we are hoping to make it an annual trip.

Great few days here, the people, staff and facilities were all excellent. The rooms are modern, spacious and stylish and the golf courses were great to play. The food both in the evening and breakfast were of a high standard. Will look to return in the future, fantastic.

Did not stay at the resort, was golf only as we are keen golfers. Have been coming here for a few years, the golf course it self has had some superficial improvements but not necessarily helpful improvements to real golfers. The course overall has deteriorated (tees, fairways).Course was overrun with large groups of drunken golfers who obviously had no handicaps. Took 3 hours for 9 holes, didn’t see any rangers…. They take no interest or authority to resolve problems on the course. Unruly and outrageous behaviour on the course that carries on into clubhouse for more beer for hours that most people will find unacceptable. No shirts required in clubhouse bar either when we were there. Then they start their next round of unlimited golf to disrupt more people! Disruptive to other guests on and off the course, think they are the only people on the course. Amendoeira is lowering its standards all around as a cheap alternative to serve drunken Albuferia type during the day and have no control over the groups.

This was a group visit to play golf on the Faldo and O’Connor courses at the resort. The golf side of the visit worked well. The courses are challenging yet interesting and well maintained. Plenty of electric buggies are available (essential) and the practice facilities are adequate. The food at the resort was pretty standard fare and the snack menu was reasonably priced. What let down the experience was that our accommodation was at the far end of the resort and with no transport we had to rely on the shuttle service from the apartment to and from the clubhouse, which meant excessive wait times, particularly at peak times. All of the group’s room key cards stopped working on the third day and it was a bit of a mission getting reception to sort this out. No explanation or apology was offered. Reception also apparently failed to book a taxi which had been requested meaning further delays while this was sorted. The standard of staff was variable, some who were very helpful and others who seemed overly officious or not sufficiently interested in helping solve guests problems. Louis (a shuttle driver) was particularly friendly and helpful during our visit.

Really enjoyed our stay at Amendoeira, the reception staff were extremely helpful and polite, the apartments were incredible. We played the faldo course twice and the O'connor Course once, both courses were in great condition, faldo course is a much bigger test but the views on some of the holes on both courses were amazing. We had a group of 9 and everyone can't wait to come back. The shuttle service was extremely helpful, got you around the resort at the convenience of a quick phone call. Food was good and reasonably priced. If I had to say a couple negatives its that during our 3 day stay we had no clean towels for our apartment at all, which I have seen on previous reviews. And both course's the pace of play is slow, this was the case for every round. Every tee times booked and most holes we found ourselves waiting 4/5 minutes to tee off, the rounds on two days were close to 6 hours with buggies which isn't good enough.

Scammed by the shuttle bus service. We asked to go to the supermarket around the corner. We’re not informed there would be an additional charge for the taxi service until we got back when they demanded we paid €30 for a 2 minute journey which was excessive
