"During my recent work trip, we booked this new hotel because of its physical location close to Rideau Centre and University of Ottawa. I am a loyal Marriott member so, I was excited to try a new place to stay in the city. First of all, location. It is really great. Close to Byward and Rideau Centre. Close to Parliament Hill. Lots of dining options. McDonalds is close, Dollarstore is close, etc. Very walkable. Are there unhoused peoples, yes. But they are in many large cities. We never felt unsafe. No one ever asked us for anything. If you are upset by the unhoused population, try Doubletree by Hilton (also close to everything) or the Westin. They had less outside. The hotel itself. Our room was huge! We had the two queen room, facing Rideau street. Lots of storage, big bathroom with lots of counter space. TV has streaming service. The comments about noise outside are accurate. The street is busy but we could sleep. Didn't really bother us. We didn't have a car so I can't really comment on the parking. Our only complaint was housekeeping. We were out each day by 8am for our conference. One day we came back at 4 and our room was just getting started. Also, they didn't do much. Never changed our garbage. Didn't change our used glasses or dump the ice bucket. They made the beds and changed the towels. The restaurant. I would not bother. We had dinner here one night. I ordered the sliders with fries. I ordered this because it said "fresh smash burgers". They were frozen, filler patties. Greasy. Not a good taste. Fries were okay for frozen ones. Our service was not great either. We finished our meals, they took our plates, and then we waited 20 minutes before going to the bar to ask for our bills. We did breakfast another day and all I can say is avoid. I ordered over hard eggs, I got over medium. I got eggs with fruit, potatoes, and toast. Frozen McCain potatoes, three pieces of fruit (Orange, grapefruit, and one blueberry-I'm serious), and one piece of sourdough bread with no butter. My friends eggs were not cooked. The coffee was okay, not great. The service was better though. The front desk was excellent. Great checkin in service. They stored our bags no problem on our last day. Overall, will I be back? Not likely. Everything was okay but I did expect a little more from Marriott. I've stayed at the Westin and had a better experience."

The hotel was clean and love the fragrance smell on the hallway. The room was really big, clean and beds/pillow were soft and comfortable. I can definitely say that their service was excellent. I would stay here again."

"This hotel is extremely unaccommodating. We'd like to cancel our stay with advance notice due to family members being sick unexpectedly, with medical documents provided. The hotel manager completely ignored our request. We ended up making full payment without staying there. We have been Marriott VIP members for many years and it's both frustrating and disappointing dealing with the people in Marriott Ottawa. We will never book this hotel again!"

"We booked a 2 double beds room. The bed is good, but the heater is too old and noisy. So it was quite annoying and easily made us awake. The room's size for double size beda is not spacious, it is quite tight. Food Basics is located a couple of minutes walk. So, we can easily buy fruits, breads and some frozen fooda as the room alao has the microwave."
