Ulasan Grids Premium Hotel Otaru

We stayed a night and chosen grid as a base as it's well situated in the middle of Otaru. - We checked in in the evening after a long day out. I was trying to get my family to offload the bags and check in first, hotel staff saw us and approached us at the parking lot, we thought it's impressive for staff to have noticed us and came forward to help and direct us but we were quick to jump to conclusion. Instead of assisting us, the staff ask us to put the bag back on the car so he could direct us to a parking lot which requires payment. It's okay that assumption failed, but when we are at the parking lot, the staff direct me to park in the initiate lot, but subsequently changed his mind and directed me to park at the lot beside despite the fact I have turned off the engine and gotten off the car, and there's easily another 20 lots around. That being said, I am fine with moving, the final straw for the poor rating came when they saw my wife struggling to wheel the big bags for the family across the snow to the hotel but offered no help. I think it's ungentlemanly and unspoken off of japanese service culture. - Rooms and onsen is impressive though, we stayed in the top level which only has three family rooms I guess and the view in the morning is good. Amenities are self serviced at level one across the check in counter. Top notch face mist and hairdryer in the room was a plus. Cleanliness was top notch as well. - location was central to Otaru Canal and JR Otaru station.

A modern hotel with a public bath and sauna in the 11th floor (nice view) but unfortunately not an Onsen (= hot spring). Parking fee (1,500 ¥/night) relatively high. Free Welcome Coffee was nice!

Love the location, walking distance to Otaru Canal, sankaku Market, Otaru Station and the Sakaimachi hondori Huge room and smart tv. Nice pyjama.

The place is not too bad as it’s my second time there. It’s quite new and not too expensive either.

Wished we could stay longer. Beautiful view and not too far to walk to attractions. Lawsons right next door. Room is so spacious and comfy bed. Did not try the onsen as it's just normal hot water

The hotel location is good, 10 min walk from Otaru station. Too size is just right and the public bath on top floor was really nice.

Decent hotel within close proximity to the train station and canal. Can be packed during check in hours. Concierge service at the counter was good. I booked 2 rooms and they kindly placed us next to each other.

This is a great hotel smack bang in the centre of Otaru, close to everything you need. The service was prompt and the hotel room nicely designed. The lights were lovely. Our favourite part was the outdoor onsen on the roof top which could get quite popular even at low season. Don't know how it would work in high season. Great value for money. Room had a good view too!

Staff is nice. Pillows & bed are ok. Location is ok (if driving) and there is a convenient store around The day we checked in is the day b4 my hubby's birthday, I requested to do some simple decorations or just a birthday message for him. Hotel rejected my request but finally they put a paper printed birthday message on table. Thank you. They have private car park which is not free and charged 1500 yen per car per night. However, they are very straight to ask you move out car at 11 am next day even not full many free space, not allow to stay. Quite pitiless. Hotel room looked nice but lighting is not enough for ladies to make up. Since no double bed room available, we requested hotel to put 2 beds together and hotel confirmed but finally did not arranged. We saw Youtuber advised breakfast is good but actually just soso, not a must to try.

I booked two nights. The room is tidy and spacious. The decoration looks pretty new, which give me a very warm vibe inside the room. They offer me a room in the 7th floor, which facing the harbour. The view is so beautiful that just like a real painting. I had a very relaxing time in those two nights, thanks a lot!

Overall enjoyable experience. Clean room and walking distance to the Otaru Canal, Sakaimachi Street, Sankaku Market etc.
