The Charlton Inn

Great location with really good food, it’s a lovely pub with helpful staff. But I’ll be honest, the rooms walls were peeling away from the wall, bed wasn’t great which gave me a bad back. Also, the light outside the only window was on all night which kept me up most the night couldn’t tell if it was night or day But over priced for what it is and for the time of year. But I get it as times are hard at the moment with rates going up.

My sister and I found our stay very comfortable.Slept well.Tray with cookies coffee and hot chocolate was more than welcome as we arrived cold and wet. Had a nice meal in the Charlton pub staff were welcoming and friendly.This is my third stay here and would recommend.

As a solo traveler I found my stay (two nights) very enjoyable. The room was clean and spacious for a single room. There were all the amenities, fridge, kettle, towels, parking spaces etc. I felt secure even though my room was apart from the main building. I invited my friend to join me for a meal in the restaurant and we both found it to be excellent. The only issue was breakfast wasn’t served but that hasn’t deterred me from recommending the Charlton Inn to my well travelled daughter.

The location is ideal. next to the rail station and walking distance to many restaurants. Service is very good and staff are friendly. The only minor issue is the wifi connection isn't so good.

From the outside it looked lovely, nice rooms set back from the pub/restaurant itself, plenty of outside space and adequate parking. The room smelt very strongly of damp and foist, there was lots of mould all over and cobwebs left. Roller blind had squashed dead bugs on, dressing table stool was wobbly and it was just seemed neglected. Location was great for what we needed, restaurant was decent but was really disappointed with the room, so was my 8yr old daughter who picked up on the smell immediately. If I could have found another hotel once I’d been in the room I would have. Thankfully we didn’t spend much time in it as we had a busy itinerary, would certainly visit the area again but unfortunately not the hotel

Sat at table 18.30, ordered meal straight away, meal arrived at 20.10. In that time no one asked if we are ok or need anything…bill came to &58.00 when paid by machine bill was £ 75 obviously hidden charges…..food was nice …….room not good…….

Lovely room in separate building almost chalet-like and very cute. Everything I needed was provided.

Service was great, very friendly staff, sadly we had a few issues, we stayed for two nights on the first night some robbers stole cables to the rooms so the electric was cut off, as a safety feature the emergency light came on and stayed on most of the night causing poor sleep. The shower cubicle was to small due to the nature of the showing head. Room while clean was not that comfy and not enough tea or coffee considering it was a family room. Breakfast was strange, a basket with some pastry, yougat, fruit ect was left each night. Would probably have been better to say no breakfast available?
