The Inn at Dromoland

My wife and I with our 2 kids are staying here as a treat for our kids to visit Santa in Bunratty. This hotel is definitely a tale of two halves. Firstly the positives: The front of house ( reception, lobby & bar) are lovely. Really warming and a nice seasonal atmosphere. The reception staff were lovely and kind. The bar was very busy with Christmas parties yet we had a table booked in advance. Our food was beautiful. Absolutely gorgeous. Credit to the chefs and staff. The breakfast was excellent. Plenty of choice and space. The hotels location is really good. Near Limerick Shannon & an hour to Galway. The pool was really warm. However there are some problems which cannot be excuses as a "3 star" hotel. From the wedding display cabinet behind reception the maintenance & upkeep is poor. The carpeted corridors are very stained & old. The curtains, pictures (artwork) and fittings (lighting) are all very dated. The walls are marks and scruffy. Doors, frames etc same, all chipped and marked. Floor is uneven in alot of places. The ceiling in some of the pool area is badly stained and again the area is run down. The room was OK. 3 star standard but a few really poor aspects. The window restrictor was easy opened. My 8 year old autistic son unlatched it. These should be bottom fitted. The walls were scruffy and the shower head was all stained. There was a hole underneath a socket which is potentially very dangerous. This hotel needs investment in the built environment. The staff are topclass but they can only do so much. For a family looking for a decent well priced 3 star stay ya it does the trick but don't expect anything more.

We didn't stay in the hotel but we held a family event in the restaurant recently. It was flawless. The food was excellent, the staff were attentive and the price was very reasonable. All age groups and dietary requirements (lots of options) were catered for - without any fuss. I would highly recommend the restaurant!

I'm irish and if this place is what our tourist are getting as a hundred thousand welcomes well its a sad place My wife and I arrived today 13/6/24 And we were asked to pay up front For our 3 night stay when we asked why we were told this was a management decision. So we asked to pay by cash and they refused unless we had a credit card which we did not have. We're is the logic we won't take your cash. There was a large group of us there from Last Thursday to Sunday.approx 45 of us We have been going here for the last 3 years but sad to say this place needs a total make over the carpet through out is dirty the paint work is also in need of TLC The curtains in our room were torn and a blood stain on it also. The food was average on Friday and Saturday night The worst incident was on Thursday night there's we were eating with another couple we had to remove empty glass and bring them to the bar ourselves the floor staff were not run off their either. When it came to order our last drinks we were told by a waiter named Patrick that we would have to vacate the bar on receiving our drinks and we said ok and move to the area near the main reception. About 15 to 20 minutes later we called the same individual and asked about our drinks and his reply to me was I told you to collect it from the bar which I said to him was a lie And his response to my wife was that we were Clearly Intoxicated and we could not remember anything. He stood there still insisting we were drunk. I asked him to leave as he had insulted us he then left our table. I went to look for the manager and tell him about what had happened He had left for the night we spoke to another bar person Gavin who totally was sorry for what had happened to us. I asked him to have the manager contact me regarding our issue. On Friday evening I asked Gavin had he spoken to the manager he said he had. Still the manager never came to us regarding the incident. And this young individual Patrick was on duty the next night. In fairness to Gavin he reduced our bill in the bar that Thursday night as to say sorry for what happens. My wife and I are in our sixties the other couple are in their fifties. Will we return next year No Way never again.

Food came very late and waiters were making excuse’s on why it didn’t come out on time I would recommend the food is ok but service is a little bad and food will take a long long time to arrive at your table and the drinks are nice but they also take a long time to arrive

I had the pleasure to go to 2 weddings in the Inn of dromland. Family and friends. The staff from when we walked in the door to the end of the night were amazing. One of the wedding I stayed at the Inn of dromland we had a great night the room was very cosy and the bed was so comfortable. Breakfast the next morning was lovely along with the food on both times of each wedding. I cannot estimate the how good the food was at both weddings how the staff were so good at the service of dinner on each day. The barstaff were so friendly and could not be more helpful I was never left waiting at the bar the bar person had always caught my eye to let me know I will be with u in a minute. To management your staff at the Inn of dromland are fantastic and so friendly it was a pleasure to go to 2 weddings with ye and I would highly recommend the Inn of dromland to anyone evening if it is Sunday lunch. Or afternoon tea. I would give the Inn of dromland 5 stars.

stayed here in may and found everything almost perfect. Food was top notch and a great choice. Breakfast wonderful and loads to eat. entertainment was top class and atmosphere in bar was delightful. service was the best I have seen in a long time and even let us check in at 10am because room came available. All in all a wonderful weekend and I am already planning a return visit.

I stay here on a regular basis and the hotel is convenient to nearly Shannon airport and the town of Ennis. Rooms are comfortable. The food in the bar is very good with a variety of choices. Staff are very friendly and check in and check out is always easy with the very experienced Olive in charge there.

Our fourth group visit to the Inn. And once again we all left positively glowing. I simply can’t fault this hotel. Staff are friendly attentive and well trained. Cannot do enough for you. The food in both the restaurant and pub is amazing. Entertainment in the pub both Friday and Saturday great. Rooms are large clean and very comfortable. The walks around the grounds of the castle are spectacular. Definitely suits our large golfing group. We love it!! Definitely will be back next year!!!

This hotel was not up to par. Checking in there was a wedding reception in the reception area. It was so loud we could not communicate with the staff. Our room was on the upper floor, but we needed to walk down a long hall to get it. The walls were thin,we could hear everything going on. We went to dinner at Shannigans where our server took our order and left. Glad I was only here for one night.
