christmas dinner with friends. the roast potatoes were off the scale. crispy and totally yummy. in fact it all was delicious. the pub is friendly and cosy. still retains the air of a proper pub with room for drinkers and eaters. board games for the kids so they are not on their phones and a section for the footie fans that doesnt take over the pub. love the wall paper in the girls loo. very smiley land lord. had a fab night

Very pleasant place. Top food and top staff the service was amazing and so too the food the landlord and landlady where very nice and welcoming and nothing was too much to ask. The pub was very tidy and very nicely decorated with a great atmosphere. Also the pub is in a beautiful little village.

Fantastic pub and great accommodation. Lovely food and excellent breakfast. Plenty of parking. Excellent atmosphere and the landlady Jo, was so helpful and friendly - nothing was too much bother for her xx We would definitely stay again xx

We stumbled across Ye Olde Red Lion, on our trip home and stopped in for lunch. It was a Monday and it was really busy, but the landlady found us a table. We had the pie of the day, beef and onion in red wine gravy. Absolutely delicious. The Landlord, landlady and staff were so friendly and welcoming. Even though they were really busy they still had time to greet and talk to each customer. Wonderful place, will definitely visit again. Tip- try the pork scratchings xx

Went for dinner with my husband and 2 friends. I ordered fish and chips, the fish was very small, covered with soggy, inedible batter, didn't bother with the chips or peas. Service was non-existent, complete disinterest. Needless to say we will not be venturing there again.

We stayed here on our way down to Southampton to catch a cruise ship. Our room was very nice and spotlessly clean. I had to go outside to get a WiFi connection. I didn't realise that Sunday night has a limited menu in the restaurant. Only pizza available and no pudding. It was nice but would have oregerred more choice. The breakfast was very good with an excellent selection to choose from. I would stay here again, hopefully not on a Sunday so we can try the menu in the pub.

Very friendly good food great service lovely family run b&b definitely would recommend Room was clean spacious bed comfy We had evening meal which was lovely and plenty of it and the full English breakfast was huge kept my husband going all day and that is some going!!! We will definitely be back

Last visited 4 years ago and returned yesterday as part of our stop off ,to board our cruise the following day. ( we live 200 miles away) This pub is so welcoming and the menu choice is very varied, this would suit most people palettes . I chose the ‘beef rendang ‘ which was spicy but not too hot. Absolutely delicious. My husband had ‘ Pork Escalope ‘ with chips and salad . All nicely cooked , well presented. Will definitely be calling again soon. 👍

Had the pleasure of visiting this pub for Sunday Lunch today. Staff were warm and welcoming, the pub itself is bright and spacious. We were given the booth which was perfect for a couple. We shared honey and mustard mini sausages and the salt and pepper squid, both of which were very fresh and moreish. We both had the Roast Beef as a main course and it was excellent. Portions were very generous, the beef cooked superbly, and the neeps were a hidden surprise. cant wait to come back and sample the rest of the menu. highly recommended
