We are currently staying at the Perla Marina so bang up to date review. Staying in a refurbished "superior" room, but if you want to put your clothes away, forget it! Not a drawer or cupboard in sight. Not even a bedside cabinet, just an alcove with a rail and shelf. Kettle and cups but no tea or coffee to put in them. How basic this all is! What is superior about this room - nothing! Such a lack of facilities. On the positive side the hotel is very clean, nice pool, and comfy beds with a balcony and a nice sea view.

Good standard hotel. Fantastic location. Spotlessly clean. Friendly staff and good food. Two very nice pool areas if you ever manage to get a sun-bed. Rooms are small but have fabulous views from the balcony if you have sea view room. My only issues were a huge chair in a small room that had to be moved every time you either opened the balcony door or the wardrobe. If you want to hang anything longer than a tee shirt then your only option is the towel rails in the bathroom. They have no ironing facilities and the pool areas are not managed so the selfish set put towels down when it opens and come back at 4.30. I would stay here again as I say it’s a good hotel with just a few *******.

The hotel is at best a 3 star with cramped and dated facilities and mediocre breakfast. Watch out for the Scam on the Room upgrade Bookings. From our experience and what we observed, the staff have a pathetic little scam to get customers to pay for the same room twice, whereby they try and give customers a basic room rather than the better room they paid for and at the same time they are trying to up-sell customers who book a basic room. In our case we as a couple paid for and our booking confirmation was for a double superior room for 2 adults but at check in the hotel gave us a single superior (much smaller for 1 person) room, hoping that we would not notice or complain. When we complained, it was eventually changed but only after the reception staff tried to say that the two rooms were the same when even the hotel website clearly identifies as not the same room types or sizes (see pictures for reference.) Later during our stay, we were passing through reception and overheard another customer with the exact same complaint. I would not recommend staying at this hotel.

Just returned from Perla Marina , had a lovely holiday, good food, good housekeeping , good location , nice room with sea view on 4th floor, Hard working staff, I would recommend this hotel, I had a big birthday here and they were part of it, Thank you Perla Marina.

We enjoyed our stay at the Perla Marina. We had a standard room, in our case in the Annex on the 4th floor, but with the all important sea view and balcony. The hotel's location by the sea and a few minutes walk from the main tourist area and dozens of restaurants was lovely. The hotel is otherwise fairly basic - one of those more 3* than 4* hotels. There is a small pool with sunbeds at the top of the Annex which we made good use of. The "no reserving sunbeds" sign is not policed (and mainly ignored) but we never had a problem. The pool on the ground floor of the main hotel site was packed and probably too small for a hotel of this size but you could hit the beach just across the front. Breakfast very basic. Good service in the seafront restaurant. Wi-fi not brilliant and at times not accessible. All the staff at the hotel were friendly and really helpful and we loved Nerja.

Really like this hotel, have stayed for a week twice this year so far and will be back there for a week before Xmas. The staff are so accommodating and hard working,credit to them all. Not had evening meal but enjoyed the buffet breakfast each morning . The beachside cafe is a nice place to spend a little time at too, enjoyed drinks and lunch there a few times. Rooms are kept very clean, beds are comfortable.Location is perfect,nice little stroll to the centre of town but just enough away to enjoy the peace when it's sleep o'clock .

Returned to Nerja for the 2nd time, would not go back to this hotel twice. Room 407 in annex was clean but no balcony so nowhere to sit or hang wet swimwear, tried to upgrade before coming but was told it was not possible so made the best of it. Went HB food was average ,usual buffet food never hot enough. On the positive side room was immaculate housekeeping were great. Went to rooftop pool which opened at 10am, fine first few days till a large family of about 12 came and started queuing at 9am to get the beds ,so just went to beach . Pool really needs a good clean as tiles were a bit grubby. Building work was still ongoing despite Jet2 saying it would not impact us it did with a skip right outside and hammering was quite noisy. Great bar called Michels 2 minutes away and hotel was next to beach with bars and restaurants all in walking distance. Will definitely return to Nerja but not to Perla Marina.

Fantastic hotel. Lovely staff. Great response to my email prior to travelling. Two nice pools with plenty of sun beds to relax on. Right by the beach with a lovely cafe bar for drinks and snacks. The food was good with a fair choice at both breakfast and evening meal. The dining room staff are very kind and helpful. The two rooms we had were spacious and very clean. With lovely balconies and extremely comfortable beds, in our opinion the hotel is great value for money. It is in a nice quiet area yet just a 15 minute stroll to town. We will definitely go back again.

This was out 6th visit to the Perla Marina. This time our daughter joined us. As usual we had a great stay. We asked in advance for a high floor and that's exactly what we got. We were given room 223, fully refurbished to a high standard with a wonderful sea view. The staff as ever were friendly with a smile. Only issue we had was the refurbished room had no wardrobe or draws. We had to live out of our suitcase and stack clothing on chairs. There was a small rail on the wall with about 8 hangers. For three adults we did struggle with space. Also, please stop folk leaving towels on sunbeds and then going out for hours. We did struggle most days to find sunbeds. Despite this, it will not stop us returning again soon. One of Nerjas finest. Thanks to all the staff for looking after us.
