"Parautane Lodge is a delightful B & B perched high above Nelson. The Harris room in which we stayed was well proportioned and had a modern bathroom. Other rooms may have better views, but they are smaller. The breakfast room and choices were excellent and the staff couldn't be more friendly."

We arrived late and told the hotel before and the reception still came out of the back room to help us and recommended us with great spots to go visit and great dinner places as well. Had too short a stay at this place, will definitely come back for a longer visit. They even have a bathtub!!"

"The room was clean and tidy, with a good outdoor view, comfortable room, good location, and a small outdoor swimming pool. The service was also warm and thoughtful. The only drawback was that it was under the flight path, and there would be noise when the planes flew over, but there were not many planes in Nelson, so the impact was not too great."

"Beautiful large one bedroom unit, very clean, has two TV s(one in bedroom). Large bathroom with a spa bath, good shower. Kitchenette has everything you need for simple cooking. Bed is comfortable, electrical blanket is a plus. City view from balcony and mountain views from front verandah are very pleasing. Lovely friendly host lady makes our stay even more enjoyable. Location is central as well, easy drive/walk in and out. Loved it. Highly recommended."

"DO NOT BE ELUDED BY THE LOWEST PRICES. THE PLACE HAS HORRIBLE ATTENDANCE. THEY SCREAM AT THEIR OWN CLIENTS, BEING VERY UNPROFESSIONAL AND IMPOLITE. THEY NEVER ANSWER THE PHONE WHEN REQUESTED. THE PLACE IS VERY DIRTY, THE TOILETS AND KITCHEN HAVE FLIES. THE ROOMS ARE OVERPACKED WITH BAD-LOOKING PEOPLE, WHO MAKE USE OF **** IN A DAY LIGHT AS I NOTICED WITH MY OWN EYES. DEFINITELY A PLACE TO BE AVOIDED BY ANY MEANS!"
