We chose this hotel to start our holiday in Sri Lanka as close to airport & beach. Very friendly & comfortable hotel. Bed was very comfortable, lovely sheets, good shower & plenty of hot water. Breakfast was good with variety of asian food, fruit & egg station. Dinner was a little disappointing with limited menu, unfortunately my chicken was overcooked but was quickly replaced by freshly cooked one. Balcony was dirty, had holes in floor & needed a table. Overlooked the canal which was pretty dirty. Walking distance to beach & variety of restaurants - can recommend Honey Beach Bar for sundowner cocktails & Lords Restaurant for dining & laid back live music. Not much to see in Negombo but it was worth staying a couple of nights to acclimatise.

I came here for a full body massage, and Nishal of the Ayur Ayur Spa was incredible. I anted a deep tissue massage, and that’s exactly what I got. It was so good a came back again later for a leg/foot massage with Nishal. He’s very good at his craft.

The worst! Can you imagine - you arrive at CMB airport. You think let's book a nice hotel in the area and start planning your first days from there. You arrive from the airport but first you have to wait and sit for 30 min until they make time for your and look up the booking. You fancy a nice warm shower after your flight. There is NONE! Went to the reception to indicate the issue. after a long wait they said the warm water will be back in 30 minutes. This was not the case, even the next day. Hot water showers are in almost all hotels as they use a heater for each individual room but this one did not. Secondly we wanted to arranged travel with them to the first safari. We discussed the plans around 6PM but only had a workable, overprice, plan from them at 11PM. Not because it was hard to plan but the hotel employee who did help us at first did not care anymore and went on with his friends in the restaurant. We also agreed on the price but in the end were forced to pay more as agreed and the driver they arranged got angry with us. Would you like to reach your room? Please mind the yoga participants that you have to cross or blocking the walkways to your room (tried to respect everyone's zen but slightly inconvenient...). Rooms are old with damages all over the place. Also far from any restaurants in Negombo. Summarizing my experience: pictures look great and unfortunately that is were it ends. Some say it is a nice hotel for booking your travel but we have not experienced it that way.

This is a good hotel if you are really into nature and living in the wildness. The style is good, pool as well. Special shout out to the hotel staff - they are all amazing and really care about the guests. However, as someone living in a normal flat in a city, I couldn't really stay there and we left after one night. Insects and other creatures are everywhere in your room: floor, bathroom and even the bed! Ants, caterpillars, moscitos and lizards… I understand that this might be normal for locals, but not for us.

We stayed here for our final night before flying back home. A very quirky place. Rooms are ok, AC was leaking, very dark, not much light. The restaurant is absolutely infested with mosquitos as it is ALL outside, right next to a lake. So be prepared for that. Restaurant food is very overpriced, if you would like a nice dinner, go to ‘Salt’ down the road (literally a walk). We had a full body massage each, it was ok. Average at best. I was followed and pestered afterwards for an additional tip which I declined. If you are looking for somewhere convenient to stay for a flight, it is very average.
