Naxos Summerland Resort

We had an excellent stay in this lovely little resort in Kastraki. Both manager and staff were very welcoming; it was easy and quick check in. Very nice triple room with comfortable beds. And a very nice terrace. Nice and clean bathroom with a very good shower. Swimming pools (two for adults and oen for children) and one jacuzzi available next to bar area. Nice sand beach nearby with a couple of wooden umbrellas. Very good buffet breakfast with eggs, sausages, pancakes, cheese, tomato, cucumber, etc. Great value for money, definitely recommended.

After the Corona time, we decided to travel to Greece by car in September to pick up 'normal' life again. However, we start booking hotels and rooms much too late. The hotel where we usually stay on the island of Naxos is fully booked. And yet we want to go to Naxos. I have difficulty walking and therefore have quite a few wishes. After digging around on the internet we find Summerland Holiday's Resort in Kastraki. That looks good. Mail contact with Mrs. Maria is fast, effective, clear and friendly. That starts very positively! And it turns out, when we arrive here, to put it mildly: we obviously don't know each other, but we immediately get all the help that is needed, and more, because of my mobility problem. And this is how it will continue to be during our stay here: extremely caring, effective, high quality, very personal. We get apartment 3: very nice, very spacious, creatively furnished, wonderful beds, excellent bathroom and a very nice terrace where I do my work in the morning before breakfast and later in the afternoon and/or evening behind the PC. Summerland consists of a number of rooms and apartments, built quite elongated around a magnificent site with two swimming pools. The whole looks very neat. On one side of the complex, you will find the building with the reception, on the other side, at the second pool, restaurant and bar. There are beautiful plants around the site and very atmospheric lighting is switched on when it is dark. At the beginning of the evening, we like to move to the bar to drink a delicious glass of wine. Friendly, effective and personal are the keywords here too. And the same goes for breakfast and dinner. We have decided to dine here every evening of our stay and what they make here again and again: it looks very well cared for and it tastes perfect. Breakfast is an absolutely top-score-story. Very lavishly set up with daily changes, fresh, tasteful, beautiful put in a buffet-form. In summary: a very high quality of products, services and personal contact with the guests. Conclusion: we have found a location where we will gladly return.

After our first introduction to this brilliant complex in autumn 2022, we travelled again to Summerland in Kastraki (Naxos Island) for 10 days this year. You would almost think that it could only come across less well, but nothing could be further from the truth. Once again, we have a unique stay at Summerland. We are a little earlier in the year than last year, but the extreme tranquillity still exists here, while it is noticeably busy in and around the capital, but also at other tourist places (Chalkio, Filoti, Apeirantos), much busier than before the corona time (we have been coming to the island every year for more than 25 years, and always roughly in the same period.) The booking is personal, very efficient and clear. And we see the result when we arrive: we are welcomed with open arms, our beautiful apartment is ready and again we can park the car in an alternative location: I have exceptional mobility problems. And then the experience of our stay: The location of Summerland is perfect and unique if you want to explore the island. But going to Chora, the capital, is no problem at all. Kastraki has extreme, spacious, quiet, clean beaches and here and there (excellent) shops and catering establishments. But we prefer the options at Summerland. The breakfast is richly supplied with delicacies and is always well replenished. We also enjoy dinner in the beautiful outdoor restaurant, where breakfast is also served and you can use the bar facilities. The complex is spacious and that greatly benefits the relaxing experience. There are two swimming pools: more than enough space for guests. And don't forget: the beach is just a few minutes' walk away! We'll look a little further. Our apartment (no. 3) is on the ground floor (this is essential because of my walking problems). Wonderfully spacious. Comfortable. Equipped with everything you need. Nicely decorated, with air conditioning (we open the windows, you don't hear anything outside), nice spacious bathroom, and, essential for us, perfect internet. But best of all: the incredibly friendly, open, personal, constructive, helpful and last but not least humorous contacts with Jannis, Maria and Zefi: super sweet people. If our health allows it, they may welcome us here again next year. We're looking forward to it while we're still here! We are already working on the (first, tentative) plans! Second visit to Naxos, went as a group and my goodness what a let down. Started with a lecture on what we could and couldn’t do! (Never had this before) Room was ok a bit outdated but fair. First night in the restaurant surrounded by cockroaches. To be fair the exterminators were called in the next day. The owner was very aggressive (as previous reviews have stated) as some of our group used an inflatable in the pool. He told them there had been an incident where he had ended up going to prison and he didn’t want to go back!!!! We found him very passive aggressive and he watched our every move!! Breakfast again was ok but bland. The staff were miserable other then a cleaning lady who smiled every time. On a positive note two fabulous restaurants at the end of the road who were friendly and welcoming. There is a bus that drops off near the hotel but only about four a day! Stay nearer to Naxos town unless you have a car and don’t have children! (I think this would be better as an adults only hotel) Hotel Grotta is amazing, very friendly and near the port. I await his aggressive feedback!

As we pulled in we were pleased that we were to spend a week here adorned with trees tiki style umbrellas pools a wonderful hot tub and more. Our rooms had many accommodations: we loved the privacy immaculate and a/c. And our most favorite the daily breakfast with a daily new menu item and so many choices drinks food … The owners were accommodating with all our questions giving us wonderful recommendations. The staff were kind and very accommodating as well. Thank you Summerland for a treasured memory 🩵🤍🩵💙💙💙

Very clean. Very friendly staff. 2 minutes walk to beach

Family run feeling, very friendly & helpful, lovely pools, spotless, fantastic location with 2 amazing beaches 2-3mins walk away. Enough restaurants in walking distance, and more lively places a short cycle away. Excellent for quiet family holiday

A lovely, friendly family run resort which feels like staying in a small village. Our family room is 2 storey with 2 single beds (mattresses on concrete bases) downstairs and a double bed (mattress on concrete base) and bathroom upstairs with a balcony overlooking the pool with spectacular sunset sea views. Room has a fridge, kettle and glasses/mugs. No doors between living room and upstairs bedroom. Resort has 2 pools and a shallow kids pool, a lovely bar (only closed 3-6pm), table tennis, plenty of sunbeds and Mama the resident cat! Buffet breakfast every morning 8.30 - 10.30 5 mins walk from beachfront bus stop (bus 1 hour to Chora Port / Naxos Town, 3.2e), also 2 restaurants a mini mart and the gorgeous Kastraki beach. The sand on the beach isn't soft, grainier than other beaches, but quiet and beautiful with crystal clear water for swimming. Games and books in reception to borrow. Just a lovely friendly, family resort / hotel. We took a taxi from port to resort (40e) but the bus is only 3.2e each, takes 45 min port to Kastraki and goes from opposite the port and even stopped at the entrance to resort rather than at the beach.

Really cozy resort in a nice quiet spot of Naxos with beautiful beaches and great restaurants. We will also remember the amazing breakfast that was by far the best we had in our 12days travelling around the Cyclades.
