This is my second time staying here. It’s an amazing experience staying by inside Nara park. You can see the deer outside your window in the morning. Beautiful location. Beautiful fresh air and the owners are so nice.

This is an amazing place to stay in the middle of Nara Park. Nara Deer Park Inn and Mountain Home Lodge are two parts of the same establishment and located at the same place. The Inn is a hostel, with shared facilities. The Lodge has self-contained rooms including dining area and a small kitchenette. We stayed at the Lodge - everything was very nicely set up. The shower was one of my best experiences in winter in Japan! Finally - nothing beats walking up to the deer outside your window. 😊

Feeding the deer in an open setting was indeed enjoyable and unique experience. It was real fun to feed and pet the deer and see them bowing in appreciation of you providing food and expressing care. It was really cool touching real antlers, though they keep pulling away and there was danger of they kicking you!!
