A hotel so badly designed and website written by someone who obviously never stayed there. How could Taj hotels get this so wrong. Good points 1. Hotel is immaculate clean, impressive from the time the gates open. 2. 5 stars given to Purbita, Food and Beverage manager and Piyva in the restaurant. The attention to detail was fantastic. 3. Food was the best throughout the whole holiday. Breakfast was faultless and could never do it justice. Dinner was always a dining experience. In fact they should be moved to a true 5 star hotel. Shame could not fully enjoy with a bottle of wine. Those are the exceptional things that they have got so right. Now 1. Hotel is called Scenic and is the mountains. The hotel does not deliver, bedrooms are down 2 lift rides and then another walk to a lower level. First bedroom we were taken to, was like a prison cell hardly any light with no views. Second room, bit better but still no view and in 12 months time will be dark from growth outside the window. In fact bedrooms all face away from the mountains to the bottom in a valley. 2. As a woman staying there you could not get dressed up for dinner with any type of heels. The holes in the pavement stones are so big you would not get very far, I understand is for water to soak back in ground. I have seen better designs in other hotels. With small feet where flat shoes I still struggled to walk comfortably on the path. ⁹ 3. Hotel has gym, games room and 2 function rooms all with views of the mountains. However again not well designed or thought about. One function got an outside space that may take 20 people at the most not particular sensible. No sensible outdoor space to eat outdoors. 4. 5 star hotel and no drinks licence after 9 months and appears not telling travel agents before hand. 5. When you arrive, stunning views of mountains from car park hmm great! Next to reception there is a sitting area, in fact the only place to sit after dinner in comfort. However constant ringing of phones, so not relaxing. 6. Reception has a viewing area for the mountains. However 4 tables for whole of hotel and only 2 tables get a view as massive tree in the middle of viewing area. 7. Bar closed as no licence, very dark and not making most of views. 8. Back of bar, small outdoor area. Sat one night out of way only to be told they needed to set up for outdoor dining available on request. Felt uncomfortable sitting there. 9. Honeymoon suites we were shown, actually private pool you are over looked from the rooms above. 10 hotel manager and reception did not seem confident after 9 months being open. In fact the Manager avoided us for the whole stay after we asked to change rooms, even he saw us. With Purbita and Siyva and restaurant, they rescued a bad situation It was quite amusing that staff work with views and no idea that hotel rooms are dark and felt boxed in. I would challenge a top executive from Taj hotels to tell his wife we are going to
