This is a review of two sides. Firstly, I’ll start with what’s good. The room is great. Light, bright (weather permitting) and spacious. Comfy sofa, working area and huge bed. Add to that a spacious closet and well appointed bathroom. There’s also a kitchen area but I haven’t used that. The hotel has a fantastic rooftop pool with some great views of the surrounding area. Add to the above, the housekeeping is second to none. The wonderful Shivani has been taking care of my room for the past couple of weeks and is really nice and friendly and the standards of cleanliness I’m experiencing are beyond compare. So… I hear you think, where is it not so great? So firstly the room, specifically the refrigerator in the room. It’s connected to the power that goes off when you take out the keycard. Which means anything you put in there won’t stay cold when you’re out. Very strange and quite annoying. Secondly, the food. Breakfast buffet. Whilst the selection is pretty good. The buffet food isn’t hot. It’s somewhere between lukewarm and cold. Thought it was a one off but after two days, I gave up on breakfast (even though it was included in my rate). You can get around it by ordering an omelette but really, it’s basic food hygiene so shouldn’t really be a thing. There’s an evening buffet too where the selection doesn’t change much and when I did try it, they weren’t refreshing the food. I also tried ordering from the ala carte menu and again, it arrived cold. Thirdly, there’s a restaurant attached to the hotel however they don’t allow you to charge the meal to your room (my company opened an account for me to use) however do use the card machine from the hotel to charge you. So basically, the hotel charge you for food they won’t allow you to charge to your room. Finally, the hotel itself. I arrived and was told the house rules, no outside food (assume takeaway so fair enough) but the one that really annoyed me is NO OUTSIDE VISITORS. I’m 44 and I’m being told I can’t have visitors. Slightly annoying as I brought things from the UK for a friend’s sister. So I had to speak to the reception to get permission for them to pass by. So whilst there’s nothing really bad to report. I can’t see myself coming back here unless they work on the areas of opportunities.
