Great Hotel run by a couple who live & breath hospitality! Phillipe & Rita are one of a kind Hoteliers! The culinary skills of Phillipe are on full display with his years of experience in the industry. The service and hospitality of both, make you feel like you are staying in their personal residence.

We stopped here for lunch part way through loop 3 of the Mullertal trail. A decent choice for lunch, served quickly and with friendly waitress. The waiter had a more… relaxed attitude and didn’t seem like he wanted to be there, but the waitress and the owner were very friendly.

We were walking loop 2 of the Mullertal trail over 3 days and this hotel seemed to be in the ideal place. We arrived later than we expected and the hotel was a very welcome site as we emerged from the trees into the village. We had a very warm welcome from the owner You can book half-board, with a fixed menu for dinner, or eat in the bistro or off the menu in the gourmet restaurant. We did half-board and the food was excellent both nights, with the chef kindly taking account of my wife’s food allergies. Very friendly and helpful staff. Breakfast is also large with a good choice. Our room was quite large with a balcony overlooking the field behind the hotel: we got the sun in the evening. A very comfortable bed, although the bathroom could do with modernising. All in all an excellent place to stay and eat.

Situated in beautiful Mullerthal close to the famous waterfall and in the middle of the forest this hotel is a very nice place to stay. The food is excellent and the rooms are good. The staff is very friendly and helpful, i'd love to go back here again.

Personeel is erg vriendelijk, gastvrij en behulpzaam. Inrichting van het hotel is gedateerd en je kunt zien dat ze langzaam aan proberen te moderniseren. Kamer was keurig en schoon. De kaart en keuken snap ik niet. Tussen lunch en diner is de keuken gesloten terwijl het terras vol zit. Ze hebben een luxe diner kaart die zeer prijzig is. Wij hebben daar niemand gebruik van zien maken. Daarnaast hebben ze een bistro kaart waarop de helft van de gerechten is doorgestreept. De keuze was daardoor minimaal, prijzen maximaal. De flammkuchen met scampi’s die ik bestelde was prima en wel wat flauw, salade was heerlijk. Goede (eenvoudige) gevarieerde gerechten tegen een redelijke prijs vallen denk ik beter in de smaak. Ik vond de prijs kwaliteit verhouding voor het eten niet goed. Ontbijt wordt pas vanaf 0830 geserveerd. Naar onze mening een uur te laat voor sportieve wandelaars die veel te vinden zijn in dit gebied.

Aangekomen na 7 uur wandelen in de regen wordt gemeld dat ze gesloten zijn. Alleen open voor eigen gasten ,terwijl ze over een uur open gaan voor iedereen. Zó ongastvrij!

Danke für ein schönes Wochenende mit nettem Personal und super Küche. Wir waren zum zweiten Mal hier und haben uns wieder sher wohl gefühlt. Bemerkenswert ist die gute Küche, die umfangreiche Weinkarte und das nette Personal. Die Chefin hat uns mit velerlei Tips versorgt und für einiges die Augen geöffnet. Nach der Pilzsuche hat sie eine Kontrolle angeboten, was wir gerne annahmen.

Pour notre séjour dans la région du Mullerthal , nous avions réservé pour un séjour entre amis, 3 chambres en demi pension à l'hôtel Le Cigalon. Nous avons découvert un endroit superbe dans une région qui ne l'est pas moins. Nous avons été très bien accueilli dans un cadre superbe . Le cadre , les chambres et le restaurant sont trés bien. Pour le petit déjeuner , nous avons pu découvrir des confitures , des jus ,..., faît maisons. Pour le repas du soir , une cuisine fine et très gustative à base , aussi ,de légumes issus du jardin de l'hotel. Et que dire des vins conseillés. Le personnel est très aimmable et serviable . La direction s'enquière à chaque instant de notre bon séjour. Nous le recommandons vivement.
