Hotel is zeker een aanrader voor een ideale vakantie in Monte Gordo. Vriendelijk personeel een ideale lokatie op loopafstand van restaurantjes en strand.

Vila Real y Monte Gordo son dos destinos interesantes para practicar deporte (running, bicicleta, golf, etc.) y este Hotel reúne las características idóneas para ello. Localización cercana a las instalaciones deportivas, habitaciones preparadas para un buen descanso y un desayuno con opciones sanas, de calidad y adecuadas para deportistas.

Where to begin... This is NOT I repeat NOT a 4 star hotel as advertised, so please don't raise your hopes or expectations. Lets start by defining what makes a 4 star hotel great as appose to an average 3 star. Going above and beyond your expectations maybe, with the quality of food or great customer service, well I didn't see any of this. There was objections, no flexibility and certainly no above and beyond in terms of customer service. Therefore, this hotel should be DOWN GRADED in my expert opinion and I have reviewed 100's of hotels and restaurants, over the last 15 years on this site. Firstly, on arrival at the hotel on day 1 at 10.45am we were told we could not check-in until 3pm, ( no flexibility) we were the only ones checking in at that time and the hotel was not full. No one contacted the housekeeper cleaning lady to make up the rooms asap. Even if our allocated rooms were occupied until 12pm it still took until 14.45pm ( that is a wait of 4 hours ) after our arrival. NOT a good start. No welcome drink was offered. Did I mention the visitor tax ??? Yes, you also have to pay 7 euros per person for the privilege of staying here, on arrival at check in. No bowls of fruit on the reception tables ( as shown in the hotel photo's ) and the towels in the rooms are the cheapest thin towels, rough on the skin, you could imagine and NOT in-keeping with a 4 star spa hotel. There are also NO thick fluffy dressing gowns hanging in the wardrobe in the rooms ( as shown in the hotel photo's ) and NO mini bar either, just an empty fridge. The food is only average at best, and the tin buckets used to hold napkins and cutlery on the tables at breakfast are rusty ( not a good look ) for a supposed 4 star hotel. Its all about attention to detail, and this Hotel just doesn't have it. The staff are NOT customer friendly, the cleaner opens the rooftop pool and sunbathing area at 10am, ( when she has finished her work ) and not a moment before. So, we had to hang around everyday, while this hotel decides to unlock doors and give the guests some freedom to sunbathe when they want too. In all my years, I've never known restrictions like this at any hotel. Waiting until 10am when the guests just want to use the pool and have some sun, is not acceptable. To make matters worse, the actual bar that serviced the rooftop pool area, didn't open until 11am. So no refreshments unless you take your own!! Probably a good thing, as everything is so very expensive here. There are NO fluffy rolled up towels on the sunbeds either, ( as shown in the hotel photo's ) although towels are available to use from reception. If you want some shade, forget it... the giant parasols are not 'wind friendly' and have to be closed most days because of the sea breeze and the height of the hotel being near the sea. The tables around the pool next to sunbeds, were left uncleaned from the day before, still with sticky surfaces and ring marks left on them. So, we had to clean our

Short break. Lovely decor, room nicely furnished with amazing smelling Rituals shower gel. Food was tasty with a few choices offered and cocktails were delicious. If you can it's worth a visit to Vila Real de Santo António which is close by it has beautiful marina and boutique shops.

We recently spent ten very enjoyable nights at this hotel . The staff throughout the hotel are excellent…… very friendly and helpful at all times. Our room ( 222) was very spacious and spotlessly clean. The balcony got the afternoon sun. There was a rooftop pool with a bar which was a lovely chill out area. There is also an indoor pool and jacuzzi and other facilities which I didn’t avail of. The hotel is a short walk from the magnificent beach. Breakfast offered lots of options. We also had dinner in Fuel restaurant and the food was delicious. This is a lovely modern hotel and we would have no hesitation staying there again.

The staff and hotel were absolutely amazing but the rooftop pool was not disabled friendly and I couldn’t even get down the ladder! All it needs is a set of steps and a rail at the opposite end of the pool in one of the corners. The breakfast was pleasant but never hot.

Had a week at this hotel, as soon as you walk in you feel the relaxed atmosphere. Staff exceptionally friendly and helpful. We had a superior double room with sea view which included a large balcony and fridge. Everywhere exceptionally clean and rooms serviced every day if required. Plenty of room for breakfast but probably would avoid 9-9.30. Wide choice for breakfast. Centrally situated for town bars and restaurants and easy access to the wonderful beach. Would definitely book this hotel again

Had a great holiday in Monte Gordo at The Prime Energize. The staff were really helpful and friendly. I was upgraded on arrival and had a fantastic room. Great bed and lovely sunny balcony with sea view. Loved having an empty fridge instead of an overpriced mini bar in the room. Breakfast was good with lovely fresh orange juice, only criticism would be that the breakfast area was quite small for the number of people and at times felt a little chaotic. As a solo traveller I felt very safe both in and around the hotel. Pool area is small but was not busy during my stay. Nice to have some music when the rooftop bar opened. I will definitely return.

This is a 4 star hotel although would rate this a 3.5 star . It is probably the best in the area . Having stayed in Tavira in a 4 star , which was a level above . Nice reception/lobby area with very helpful reception staff . A good selection for breakfast . Room ok with nice SV ( if booked ) However the beds were so uncomfortable, we had two mattress toppers put on top which helped marginally . Basically the mattresses need changing . For us it’s a deal breaker . The shower tended to overflow if not used carefully . Cleaning was very good . Rooftop pool area and there was indoor pool and Spa we didn’t use .

4 of us travelled to this hotel for a 4 night break. we booked as it says on Jet 2 website there is a Beach Club, Outdoor Pool and various exercises classes including pilates and yoga. we arrived and the beach club is closed for winter, the pool was closed due to rain the previous day and we had to complain to rep to get it open the next day when the sun came out. there are 104 rooms = potential 208 customers and only 4 people can attend the classes in winter thats less than 2%! There are only 2 classes on per week. the restaurant was chaos, had to queue. Rooms are slightly dated and could do with refurb there are bikes for hire but not many Basically this hotel was not as described, Jet 2 have stated that it says in their T&C's that things may not be available in winter, however the description of the holiday quite clearly advertises these things. Avoid this hotel if you are looking for activities or anything related to wellness. we went to the spa and there were kids climbing onto the windowsills and diving into the pool. the rooftop pool (when it eventually opened) is nice and there are a few sunbeds, which are adequate in winter but would not be in summer. Overall we felt the description of the holiday on Jet 2 website was nothing like the holiday we exerienced. we really wish we had booked another hotel. Monte gordo is lovely, but book a flight only and an air BNB

First time I had visited this part of the Algarve.The hotel was welcoming the moment I walked through the door.Very friendly and helpful receptionist.I was given room 210. It really was a nice clean and spacious room.The restaurant and bar everything well presented the staff were all very friendly and took time out to have a conversation with you.The breakfast and evening meal was plentiful and tasty A couple of times I had the al a carte menu.very reasonably priced.One occasion there was a mistake with my order I was waiting over 30 minutes for my main course.I was told it was a mistake on there part and wasn't charged for the meal.Although I was willing to pay the waiter insisted that as it was there mistake they wouldn't take any money apart from the drinks I had.All in all a wonderful hotel and I wouldn't hesitate in staying there again

The week before Christmas was the perfect time to enjoy this lovely hotel. It's well designed and well equipped. The rooms are a good size. The roof terrace a sun trap ideal for sun bathing and reading in December. The food was delicious. The staff were really helpful and friendly and all just five minutes walk to the enormous and largely empty beach. Monte Gordo is a bit busy for my taste in the summer but for a sunny winters break this was heavenly.
