Un. Gros problème au niveau de la climatisation, notre arrivée, notre chambre, on aurait dit à cela, on est en plein mois de juillet sous canicule. L’hôtel n’est pas frais du tout. Je me retourne au pré du service de réception. Qui me dit qu’il feront de leur mieux, ils ont essayé d’envoyer des personnes pour l’entretien ça n’a rien changé. L’hôtel à une fille, installation de climatisation. C’est un système de VMC où ils mettent de la glace pour étaler la fraîcheur au niveau des conduits de VMC. Ce n’est pas normal qu’en 2025, on a son type de climatisation dans un hôtel soi-disant cinq étoiles voilà le gros point noir à régler très vite. Sinon le reste est très bien personnel et très professionnel. Très accueillant. Tout nous parle avec sourire, le buffet est très bien. C’était un hôtel respectable à ne pas visiter en saison estivale avec la chaleur qui fait nous reviendrons certainement, mais pas en plein été. J’espère que la direction pour trouver une solution à l’avenir pour régler leurs problèmes de climatisation et payer 635 € pour deux nuits et ne pas avoir une chambre fraîche sous canicule, ce n’est pas normal nous faisons un voyage de Lola Tunisie qui a mal commencé on est déçu. En tout cas je vous remercie le personnel de l’hôtel pour leur professionnalisme et leur accueil 
This was my very first solo holiday, and as a female in my thirties having read the reviews beforehand, I was really worried! I arrived at the hotel late as my flight was delayed. Was greeted warmly by a lovely lady who sat everyone down and asked us to complete the forms to check in. She explained we could get food and drink if we wanted and told us where to go, etc. I was very tired so opted to go straight to my room, a porter took my bags for me and checked it was all ok. My room was beautiful, clean, and there no sign of any bugs as other reviews had stated. I then went to the indoor bar for a drink before bed. The staff in the bar were absolutely lovely, all friendly, attentive, and chatty. I like to see the sunrise so I went down at around 6 am. I had already missed it sadly! So I went to the pool. A lifeguard called ramez came over to say hello and I asked him how long it would stay in the shade where I was (i was on the right hand side of the pool if looking towards the beach) he said that the sun wouldnt hit where I was sat until about 10am and asked if I wanted to move which I did. He helped me find a new spot in the sunshine and couldn't have been more helpful. Ramez took his job very seriously when watching over everyone in the pool, as did all of the other lifeguards. I saw one pull a child out of the pool within a split second while its drunk mother was totally oblivious!! The pool bar was very busy, Adem worked extremely hard and all alone, but he always had a smile on his face and was pleasant and polite and great fun to chat to. There was a rep selling trips, but he didn't harass you. Tony from the animation team and all the other guys who's name I forget made my day every day! They were actually hilarious, and though I never took part, i laughed every day at the energy they gave out! They did ask every day if I wanted to join in and tried very hard, but I always said no, and they weren't overbearing. Again, all lovely to speak with. I had no issues with reception, all lovely and helpful, though I never had any complaints. I found the food and drink to be good, no issues or complaints. The sunbeds were the main issue, all reserved by 6am, but again, ramez and mohammed were always busy helping people to find one and move things around. I only went to the beach once as I was stung by a jellyfish, but it was stunning, clear clean tidy and plenty of beds, and also a quieter bar. All the waiting staff were attentive and friendly, and though they served your drinks for you at meal times, I never went without. My room was very hot, the air con is not like here and they had a full duvet on the bed rather than a sheet, which is quite rare, I think. Also provided bath robes and 2 big bottles of water family which I loved. It was brilliant and also had wifi through the entire hotel and beach. I am unsure why there are so many negative reviews here, I don't really understand why people go to countries like this and then moan there is

What a lovely holiday and one staff member stood out was chada what a beautiful helpful lady full of character and always smiling she couldn’t do enough for you, she was so friendly and made our day seeing her each day we will miss you and hope to visit again sometime

Hotel staff in all areas were super helpful! Attended to all needs. The Animation team in particular did a great job keeping everyone laughing and on a high during the less sunny days. And evening entertainment was a good laugh always getting the guests involved. Big shout out to Momo, Tony, Amine. Nino and the professional dancer Yessine!

I have been disgusted by this hotel. Our troubles started with the room. One torn lamp shade, the other stained and rusty, the bed not made properly, just pulled up, sheet not tucked in, it wasn't even to the top of the bed. I had what appeared to be a fanta stain on my sheet. Sadly, i didn't notice it straight away. It was changed as soon as i noticed it as i pulled all the top bedding off so she could see it. That was how it was on arrival! No plug in the sink, no plug in the bath, shower curtain had black mould growing on them. We've had to ask for water for the room ( on more than one occasion). We've been left with no toilet rolls even though we requested them twice, with no coffee and sugar left. Our cleaner was useless, I'm not sure she knew how to clean when she did bother to show. We left our filthy towels (filthy From wiping table and chairs on patio) on the floor for changing. They were still there when we got back to our room even though she had been in. The bottom bed sheet was never smoothed out. She just pulled the cover up and threw the pillow up to the headboard. The fridge was filthy with dirty fingerprints and grime on the door. Not just one part, the whole fridge front was dirty, indicating to me this had never been cleaned. Our bin was overflowing with rubbish, she forgot to empty it, the next day she didn't turn up. The floor was only swept and mopped once, and that only happened because I complained to guest relations about the standard of things. The hotel had run out of pool towels on our first day. We had no choice but to go without. I only drink coffee and water. The coffee was always tepid and only half a cup full out of a machine where often the powdered milk would run out, so by the time you realised , you would have to queue again. There have been other issues with this 5-star hotel, but I think I've made my point. None of these are serious issues on their own. However, very serious when the standard is consistently bad. We are fortunate enough to take a few holidays a year now, so we will get over this one. I just don't want any family to save and work hard to end up disappointed and let down as we have been. I have taken lots of pictures in case I am asked for proof.

Had the best week ever, hotel is beautiful and beach is amazing! Staff can’t do enough for you. Habib from the piano bar stood out and made our evenings, very funny and attentive and was more than happy to bring drinks to table all night Entertainment manager was great for getting you involved in all the activities. Would definitely come back

What a lovely time we had . I wouldn't rate this a 5 star tho. 4 star at the push. Seems like they were just getting ready for the season to start as they were painting and repairing. No bar or buffet is open at the beach yet. The first impression was very good. We were greeted at the reception area. Seated down to fill in some paperwork and offered fresh orange juice. Then we were taken to the restaurant for lunch. After lunch we went back to the reception and were taken to our room. We booked a garden view room but upon arrival were upgraded for free to sea view. The room was spacious, comfortable bed, smart TV. Our cleaning lady Hela was lovely! . Food was good. WiFi worked great (even when a far distance from the hotel in the sea). Entertainment was lacking.... A few nights there was a single singer who was just reading lyrics from her iPad and she couldn't sing very well (so get ready that you will need some drinks to survive this lol). The guitarist, violinist and singer with piano were lovely and nice to listen to. Big thank you to the animation team. The staff is what made our stay such a great time. Pool bar guys, indoor bar guys (we liked these the most), restaurant guys, cleaners, staff at the reception, towel guys ... Lovely people. The location is not the best as there's literally nothing outside the hotel. But it's a short ride by train or taxi to Monastir and Sousse. There is a small local airport very close by but it was no issue at all (we've seen a few planes but it was noisy only for a minute or two). This was a package holiday on the cheaper side and we read reviews after we booked which made us a bit nervous. What a relief that we had only a positive experience. Nice week away enjoying drinks in the sun.

Absolutely loved our stay—what truly made the experience outstanding was the staff. From the moment we arrived, everyone was incredibly welcoming, warm, and professional. They made us feel right at home. The team was also impressively efficient—check-in and check-out were a breeze, and any request we had was handled promptly and with a smile. You can tell they genuinely care about their guests. Exceptional service all around!

We celebrated our anniversary with a week in Royal Thalassa and we very pleased. The entire resort was clean and the people were very pleasant. We dined in 2 restaurants on property with no complaints. The beach access was fantastic as was the pool Open to tower guests only. We were actually surprised how quiet it was in our room, knowing how many people were at the resort . Our only regret is that we had to Leave

Unfortunately, my stay at Thalassa Royale Monastir was extremely disappointing. The staff were unprofessional and treated guests poorly, with no sense of hospitality or respect. The service was absolutely terrible – very slow, unresponsive, and completely lacking in basic customer care. This hotel does not live up to its promotion or rating. I would not recommend it to anyone looking for even a minimum standard of comfort and respect.
