Hôtel le Mondon Metz

This was the best place we stayed on our trip out of three. Great breakfast. Not a 4 star place to be clear but the price was great and a nice location. Will stay here again if we are ever back in town. Room was bigger than the other two as well. Very close to train station.

I came back to Metz to watch the Moselle Open tennis and needed a hotel within walking distance of the stadium. Le Mondon is only a few minutes walk from the station and less than a 15 minute walk from the stadium. Normally I wouldn’t give a hotel like this one four stars as it is a bit shabby and in need of a little tender loving care but apart from that everything else worked very well. Staff were friendly, my room was dated but pretty comfortable and the breakfast was good. And at £50 per night this was very reasonable as the average for Metz seems to be close or upwards of £100 per night. So, overall, an excellent choice for anyone on a budget and looking for a centrally located hotel in Metz.

all in all a fair value. While the door and walls were impressively insulated, The ceiling was not and so lots of noise from above. Bathroom was tiny by any measure (and while updated, the shower curtain smelled bad). Bad WiFi even in the “lobby”. Breakfast is unremarkable (baking goods could be better, coffee was excellent some days, less on others, not a piece of vegetable, fruits were “tired”).

The hotel was very clean and really easy to get to from the train station. The best part was the people working there. I needed to change my room in right after I checked in because I needed to make space for a family member who could not get home. The front desk took care of us without an issue.

The hotel is in an old house and it has several rooms on each floor. There is a lift. The reception is on the first floor. We had a room that was very small but good for one night, with a comfortable bed and pillows. The bathroom is very small but the shower is good, with soap dispenser. There is good wifi. Breakfast is rich and various. The location is perfect, few minutes’ walk from the centre. The staff is kind.

The location of the hotel is good, placed between the train station and the city center, but the room was extremely hot in September (street view) and due to the noise could not even leave the window open.
