Der Siegeler B&B - This Lifestylehotel Rocks

Had a great stay at Der Siegler when skiiing. Transfer was early dropping us off. Helped us store our bags and asked us to come back at 2 or have a drink in the bar so the owner could check us in and say hi. Was back a bit early but checked in with no issue. The room was great. Modern, plenty of space and storage for ski gear. Big incredibly comfy bed and very quiet. Huge TV and sofa a bonus. Big balcony with view of the mountains Shower was lovely and hot. It's about a ten min walk to the Gondola with restaurants/pubs on the way and a shop a few mins and walk. Ski bus stops immediately outside and seemed to be every 5 mins when we were there. Breakfast was very good. Plenty of choice, nice and fresh, cooking the hot bits as people were there meant they were always hot. The bar was an added bonus. Nice and lively and showing any sport you can imagine. Pretty reasonable prices for a beer too. We couldn't hear it from our room but we were on top floor. Staff from start to finish it were friendly and helpful. As we were leaving very early we asked Mike what to do re. Checkout the following day. He offered a packed lunch to take with us, putting much more than expected in there which we was a lovely touch. Can't thank Mike and his team enough for a great stay. Mike seemed to be in hand from breakfast to the bar in the evening to make sure all goes running well.

Stayed in Der Siegeler hotel in January with my husband. Hotel has really changed since the last time we stayed. Bedrooms are well set out, beds really comfy, plenty of hot water in the shower, rooms cleaned every day. Good selection for breakfast both hot and cold food. There is a boot/ski room which you use with your room key. Staff in Mikes Sports bar are really friendly. Mike was really helpful when we had a problem with the safe in the room. Firstly, I'll be honest. I am holding a grudge against the Management and Bar staff, ONLY for this review. The hotel itself, is actually quite pleasant. It's clean, modern, located in a prime area of Mayrhofen and is a popular destination for locals, tourists and travellers. I could not find any fault with the rooms. The beds were comfy, really big tv, and an Absolutely fantastic shower, which were all cleaned daily. Great service from the cleaners and we were happy to leave a room tip. However, disaster on arrival. We were NOT presented with a nice welcome, or much in any other way of a greeting by Mike the Manager/owner, local black cloud. We were barked at to SIGN!! The arrival sheet. And I do mean barked at along with furious pointing of a slip of paper, all written in German (I like to have a go at languages, but I'm no expert) so we struggled a little, which seemed to annoy Mike further. Once we had overcome that issue, we were pointed in the general direction of the rooms and basically dismissed! Wow. This was the start of a frosty week with Mike, who must of took an instant dislike to our group, as he did not warm up a single degree, all the week we were there. Always harsh, always frowning. People skills seemed to have ran around Mike like dodging Covid! This is a bit unusual in the main point of contact we have for the hotel we are staying in?. But the main cause for unpleasantness, was a Mid-week theft of personal belongings. The staff seemed to have forgotten we were guests that week, (probably because we avoided the bar area a lot, due to Miserable Mike). So one evening when we did venture in for a few drinks, I happend to leave my coat, drapped over the chair next to me. My friend and brother were seated opposite, so when I took a call and left the bar, I knew things were ok. However the sneaky Barstaff girl (Irish accent, did not catch her name) managed to slip the coat and, later said that she had passed it to another group of lads, also Irish (hence she remembered them?) as she said she thought it was theirs. This story developed holes, when we were later questioning the location of the coat and lads. She assured us that she knew the lads and would get the coat back. But strangely, we saw no group of these lads, entering the hotel from our first floor balcony all night, and as if by magic, at 1 minute past her finish time, 00:01am, my coat found its way to hang on my door, and the barstaff girl doing a runner as fast as she could away, down the stairs and out the door. Could it be that my coat was hiding in the back all night, just waiting to reappear? Funny how, when we were promissed the cctv the night before, this was now refused by Mike, as the property was returned?! Strangely the barstaff girl did not linger in my pressence or even look at me for the last 2 days of our stay there... I’ve just returned from a week’s stay at Der Siegeler with my family over New Year. Our accommodation was large, modern and extremely clean. Der Siegeler had the ski bus stop directly outside and was also a walkable distance to the main street. We took breakfast every morning in our accommodation which was as we expected. We ate out at many restaurants with our favourite being El Toro, Edelweiss, Postwirt, Perauer and Goldkind. We did enjoy a drink below our accommodation at Mikes Sport bar and the staff were extremely friendly, although we did find the bar rather busy with sport screens in every viewpoint (which we should have expected). A fantastic holiday however not as chilled in the evening as we would have liked.

Mike and his wonderful team were amazing. We were made to feel so welcome. Rooms first class, breakfast amazing. Location spot on. Ski bus right outside front door. We returned home and booked again for 2025 within a day. We didn’t want to chance not getting this hotel. We are a family of 12. We all agreed that the hotel has everything, and nothing else in Mayrhofen came close to it. Mikes Sports bar is also amazing, vibrant and buzzing. Can’t wait to return again. We’re just back from a 2024 New Year’s ski ⛷️trip to Mayrhofen with friends and family, and had a great stay at Der Siegeler. Travelling as a group of 9 friends and family, the hotel was ideal for parents and parents and young adults. The rooms are large and comfortable with daily housekeeping, breakfast offered a wide choice of dishes and the bar had a great evening vibe. Mike, the owner, really looked after us dealing with any requests without question, and the bar staff were super friendly 👍😀🍻 Located within walking distance of the main Penkenbahn lift🚠and Mayerhofen town centre, Der Siegeler is also perfectly located. Der Siegeler comes highly recommended as a good value family friendly place to stay. We’d definitely stay again. Thank you 🙏 Mike and team.
