Veranda Paul et Virginie Hotel and Spa, 4 Star

A beautiful hotel & location and lovely that is is adults only. So many amazing things about Veranda Paul including the setting, the food choices but more importantly, the staff are literally second to none. Each and every one are polite, attentive and will go the extra mile. They can not do enough for you. We have stayed in Mauritius before at a different hotel which we tried to re book but is undergoing renovation so chose the Veranda Paul. We had a long talk with one of the staff on our last day about a few things we found quite disappointing. Not awful things, but things that if addressed, could so easily take your holiday to another level. I don't know what other rooms are like so can only comment on our own which was the comfort room and was perfectly adequate. We were lucky enough to have the top floor room right at the end of the resort and it was amazing and so private. Our bathroom was good, although the grouting on the step in the middle had created a groove so the water pooled out every time we showered and had to use the small towels as well a the floor one to stop the water going everywhere! Not a big deal but again, an easy fix. The size of the room was ok. The only changes I would suggest would be a bit more storage around the dressing table area as there is no room to put make up/hairdryers etc. A simple addition of a drawer to at least put everything away would make a a huge difference. Also definitely not enough wardrobe space. It either needs a lot more space at the bottom to store suitcases, or, perhaps beds raised off the floor to allow placing them underneath. As it is, they all had to be just left at the side of the room. English plugs make life so easy and also USB points in the room too. A simple thing that makes life so easily day to day while your away. The wifi is absolutely the BEST I have ever had in any hotel around the world we have stayed in. No having to go and sit in the main building just to log on. The coverage is brilliant everywhere. Ignore comments about the food being repetitive. Its not. Yes, of course you will get some things the same each day, thats true of most hotels, but the hotel provide a fantastic varied menu each day and there is something for everyone. The saint Gerant restaurant menu is exceptional. I can honestly say I did not have one single meal that wasnt great - and I'm an Ex Chef. The biggest issue we discussed was the All Inclusive set up. It is quite simply ridiculous and has no consistency whatsoever. At least 4 or 5 times a day you are being asked "are you all inclusive" and it gets very tiresome. You have to sign a receipt almost every time you have food or drinks, even though its zero? Why? What is the point. On one occasion my husband went to sign and told the barman that it wasn't our bill. He said, doesn't matter. Then why are we signing it? The next day when asking to sign they said, no its fine you dont need to. As I say, no consistency. There is a drinks menu s

Wonderful experience. Staff are extremely friendly. Food was great and it was truly a luxurious holiday experience. The ultimate couples getaway for a few days to relax and enjoy each others company. Thank you to the hotel for making things so special for us.

We spent a week at Veranda Paul and Virginie in February for our honeymoon and it was the best holiday we've ever had. The hotel and gounds: Absolutely beautiful, the grounds were immaculate with two pools, a lovely beach and plenty of nice spots to sit and have a drink while enjoying the breath-taking sea view. We loved all the wildlife in the area, the birds are amazing. We had a superior room, which had a very large comfortable bed, nice shower room, and spacious balcony with a sea view. It was really clean and the staff did a great job. We spent most of our time in the room on the balcony and especially enjoyed late evenings on there with a glass of wine. There's a spa on site where you can purchase massages and other treatments. The staff here were very knowledgeable and we went back several times! It was such a treat. The staff: 10/10 Everyone who works at the hotel deserves recognition for the amazing job they do. We were so well looked after during our entire trip and we've never met such a warm and welcoming group of people. They really made our holiday special, special mention goes to Owmlee (not sure of the spelling sorry!) who went above and beyond to look after us at the bar and also to the reception staff who were so kind, we were exhausted when we arrived in the morning after a 12 hour flight and they put us in a room immediately despite the fact normal check in wasn't for a few hours. We really appreciated the chance to get showered and have a nap after such a long journey. The food: We loved the food and we still talk about some of the dishes we had on holiday. The evening buffet is excellent quality and a huge selection, we loved the themed buffet for Chinese New Year - it was incredible. Lunches were also wonderful and I particularly enjoyed the Tuna Nicoise, breakfast buffet was great too, especially the freshly made omelette. Entertainment: We were amazed at the quality and diversity of the entertainment in the evenings, the artists that performed were incredible and again we particularly enjoyed the Chinese Dragon Dancers for Chinese New Year. We also took advantage of the watersports and glass bottom boat that came with the package and they were great fun. We really can't say enough good things about this hotel, we had such a great time that we have actually just booked to return next month in July and we can't wait to come back.

We went here on our honeymoon. The hotel is perfect for couples or a group of friends. It is fairly small in size which we really appreciated as there was always space available at the infinity pool or beach and restaurants were never packed. The service was extremely friendly but not pushy at all. Food and drinks were absolutely delicious and we also appreciated the small gym. This is the perfect place for a relaxing getaway.

Excellent service and friendly staff. The hotel is a nice small hotel with its own character and unique feel. Food is almost constant and if you feel there was not enough pancakes suddenly appear late afternoon.

The management is unacceptable! I’ve never felt so humiliated in my life being an experienced traveler and hotel guest around the world. They have completely spoiled our holidays and the whole perception of Mauritius. Don’t waste your money

The room was clean and spacious. I really liked the service. As I was travelling with my elderly mom, everyone was courteous with her and made her feel at ease. It was the first time that my mom was staying in a hotel. We met Toulsila who helped us with some great advise. Loved her genuine smile and the way she really listened to our queries and replied promptly. The swimming pool was beautiful, even though the weather was a bit gloomy. Overall beautiful experience.

The most beautiful hotel situated right on the coast with a stunning private beach, incredible food/cocktails and friendliest staff. The evening (and daytime) entertainment was excellent, and paddle-boarding, kayak, glass-bottom boat (with snorkelling equipment) and sailing boat were all included in the cost of the hotel. Better than several 5* hotels we’ve stayed in. Thank you for a beautiful stay - we’ll be back!
