I recently stayed at Marseille Centre La Joliette, and while there were some positives, overall, I found the experience quite disappointing. The biggest issue was the beds in our twin room – they were unbelievably small, more suited for a cot than an adult. I had the worst night's sleep. Thankfully, the staff were very accommodating and moved us to a three-bed room, allowing me to push two beds together for a more reasonable sleeping arrangement. The room itself was extremely basic – no kettle, no fridge, just the bare essentials. While this isn’t always a dealbreaker, it did make the stay less comfortable. The staff were great, very friendly and spoke good English, which was a plus. The hotel has a games room next to the bar, but it was a letdown. The foosball table requires you to leave your ID to get the ball, which is made of cork and doesn’t even roll properly. The pool table had no lighting, and again, you had to leave your ID for cues that were already in poor condition with missing tips. Another downside was the bar pricing—I had a late pint one night, and at €10, it was massively overpriced compared to the surrounding area, especially for an average-quality beer. On the plus side, the hotel was clean and well-maintained, but given the issues with comfort and facilities, I’d rate it three stars. Wouldn't rush back.
