Riad l'Atelier

Like many Riads in this busy Medina, there is no imposing frontage, but open the front door and the noise of the bustling city disappears altogether and it is replaced with a small oasis of tall trees, set in a courtyard, complete with a plunge pool, lit at night with candles. It is difficult to find fault with Riad L'Atelier. Its location is a couple of hundred metres away from a taxi drop on the fringes of the (generally) car-free Medina, close to the souks and a 10 to 15 minute walk from Jemaa el-Fnaa square. The rooms, of which there are only a handful, are beautifully decorated, the bed is very comfortable, the breakfast, which is varied every day, is delicious, and if you have dinner (arranged in advance), you will feel like a VIP at your small, candlelit table, set in the gardens on the rooftop. What makes this place even more special are those who work there. The warmth of their welcome and their constantly putting themselves out to ensure the nicest possible stay, was remarkable. It was very sad leaving them when it was time to move on. A big thank you to Hassan, Mohammed, Mustapha, Abdul, Saida and Rashida on their exemplary service. I cannot recommend this place highly enough.

We cannot say enough good things about Riad L’Atelier, it is exactly like the pictures, beautifully done and a very chilled vibe. Its location is great, in the medina, only minutes from the souks, this is a calm escape from all the hustle and bustle out there! We loved relaxing on the rooftop after a morning of shopping/sightseeing or sitting by the pool in the evenings with a mint tea. The breakfasts are incredible, a real feast, rivals any we’ve had elsewhere. What would make us come back more than anything though are the exceptional staff here. They made us feel like family. We were mainly looked after by Hassan, Mustafa and Mohammad - they made our holiday! We still reminisce about our times with them. Not only was their hospitality exceptional, we just enjoyed their company so so much. Rashida was also brilliant-always a happy face! And all the other staff who, unfortunately we don’t know their names, but everyone was always so warm and friendly. We’d stay here again without a doubt.

This place was great! But what's even greater? Mufasa. I can't say anything negative at all. This man knows and understands true customer service. He was so cordial and attentive. I forgot my scarf in the restroom downstairs, and this amazing man, got on his motorbike and met up with us to give it to me (we were on our way to the airport!). The room was lovely! They pay attention to detail and this is what made our stay so incredible. You must try their cold tea, it's amazing! Breakfast was SO good, we looked forward to it in the morning. It's easy to tell that a group of great minds (designer, chef, manager) got together and brought this little dream place to life.

We staid in 2 riads during our stay, I wished we could have staid in this riad the entire time. Hospitality is AMAZING and the food was EXQUISITE! Mustafa and Hassan (not sure I spelled their name accurate) were very welcoming, accommodating and provided tips for our treks out. Stepping into the Riad, the smell of orange blossom dances in the air, birds are chirping and it is a very serene atmosphere. This is truly relaxation central. Breakfast is included and was phenomenal. We also ordered dinner while there and it was the best meal of our entire trip!

This really feels like you are staying in somebody's home - the staff are really friendly and very committed to making sure you have the best and most comfortable stay. We are vegetarians and we stayed at 9 different places during our stay in Morrocco (we went to the Sahara) and L'Atelier was by far the very best food. It was so fresh and beautifully cooked with incredible flavours. We were there for 4 nights and the breakfast was specially made for us and was completely different everyday. As 2 girls travelling Morrocco we felt very safe with the L'Atelier team and were always made to feel very welcome. They really took care of our every need. Nothing was too much to ask.

We had the most fantastic time at Riad L’Atelier. It was the perfect place to relax and get away from the hectic Medina. The staff were excellent and incredibly friendly and helpful. Loved the decor and thoughtful little things like a basket of sun cream on the roof terrace. We stayed in Room 4 which has an epic bath - we loved it. The breakfasts were amazing and different each day. All in all we could not recommend more highly.
